Shift Team Leader - Westbury

We are on the lookout for an experienced Shift Team Leader to join the team at our Westbury Dairy in Wiltshire, the home of Anchor Butter!

What will the role look like?

 

As a Team Leader within the butter operations department, you will be responsible for managing performance, safety, quality and cost savings. You will be delivering operational plans and setting day to day team objectives including delivery of the site business plan and resolving day to day issues/escalation points. You will have 15 direct reports in your team including operatives, technicians and a Deputy Team Leader.

 

  • Ensuring a safe, clean and inclusive working environment
  • Ensure quality and food safety within the department
  • Be held accountable for continuous improvement in the operations area
  • Developing and fulfilling KPIs relating to safety, quality, delivery, productivity and sustainability
  • Implement and execute the local business plan within your area of responsibility
  • Ensure that your department complies with Arla Food’s standards and policies
  • Liaise closely with other departments such as maintenance and engineering to proactively optimise performance of operations
  • Have a financial understanding and operate within the financial framework set for your area of responsibility
  • Oversee team recruitment, scheduling and safety equipment to ensure a diverse and flexible workforce is working well with optimal shift planning and coverage of absence
  • Administrate health and safety talks and rehab processes

 

What do I need?

 

  • Extensive experience within people management
  • Knowledge of Lean principles
  • Excellent people skills, high levels of enthusiasm and a positive attitude to change and problem solving
  • Management experience within a relevant sector such as food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Ability to work on a 12 hour shift pattern including both days and night shifts
