As Sales Development Manager for Sport & Health Nutrition, you will be part of our fastest growing Strategic Business Unit ‘Health & Performance’ based in AFI headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark.

In ‘Health & Performance’, we develop, document, market, and sell specialized ingredients for the global medical, health and sports nutrition industry.

About the job

 

In a nutshell, your position involves both, setting direction internally, as well as nurturing a strong network of customers externally.

 

At headquarters, your market insights and knowledge are key to grow our business. You will be driving the development of our market segment and product strategies, as well as setting direction for R&D-, application-, marketing-, and nutrition-science departments. Based on your market analysis and customer dialogues you will ideate with our sales development team and other key colleagues to create the nutrition solutions of tomorrow - such as new ingredients and product concepts.

 

Externally, you will lead the growth of our ingredient business in Latin America, Middle East & Africa together with a dedicated team of account managers. You will play an essential role as a link for creating sales initiatives as well as gathering customer and market needs. Close collaboration with account managers and an excellent network with customers is crucial to becoming successful in this role. Towards customers you will present our ingredients, application concepts and market trends and act as driver on exciting projects.

 

Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in leading/directing internal projects as well as our activities towards selected global customers. You will thereby have a massive impact on our immediate sales and facilitate that our ingredient and concept pipeline for the coming years continues to flourish. 

 

   Your daily responsibilities include:

 

  • Lead the development of sales materials for our key ingredients and concepts.
  • Act as interface towards marketing in concept developments, promotions, website-contents and development of marketing materials.
  • Set direction on internal projects such as application projects with our Application Science & Technology department.
  • Facilitate ingredient NPD and concept ideation sessions by engaging key colleagues.
  • Lead product portfolio management from business unit perspective.
  • Lead our sales development activities towards selected markets and global key accounts.

 

What makes you the ideal candidate

 

You have a master's degree in business, marketing or another commercially related field and extensive nutritional knowledge with a strong passion for sport/health nutrition. Alternatively, a nutritional/scientific master's degree combined with solid commercial experience and mindset. 

 

  • Ideally, you bring work experience within sales, marketing, business development or consulting in the sport or food industry. Your track record demonstrates strong results and great stakeholder management skills.
  • You are proficient in verbal and written English and possess excellent presentation skills.
  • It is key that you have a high drive, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • You have the analytical ability to grasp market insights and/or scientific information and translate the essence into a market relevant concept.
  • You work structured and manage your time efficiently so several tasks can be solved in parallel. You are self-driven, result-oriented and enjoy taking on challenges that invite you to collaborate with colleagues.
  • The position requires physical presence in our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark and you should expect approximately 20-30 travel days per year.
