Nutrition Scientist - Aarhus

Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) is an independent company within the Arla Foods Group, with an ambition to become the true global leader in value-added whey and other milk-based food ingredients. By identifying, developing, and promoting nutrition and health effects on our whey proteins, you will support the commercialisation of our ingredients towards food manufacturers around the world. Your new workplace will be at our headquarters in Aarhus, Viby J, Denmark.


“You support the delivery of business results through transfer and communication of nutrition science knowledge. As a Nutrition Scientist in the commercial business unit, “Health and Performance” you will proactively use your nutrition knowledge and strong communication skills to bring forward nutrition insight and scientific evidence with the goal of supporting commercialisation and sales of our ingredients to food producers around the world.” says, Pernille Dorthea Frederiksen.


About the job

The role will take lead in developing nutrition and health science-based content for use in sales, marketing material and customer specific projects.  In addition, by transferring nutrition science insights to various stakeholders in the AFI organization, you also contribute to fueling our innovation pipeline for the further development of new ingredients and solutions.


More specifically, you will:

• Collect and review scientific knowledge on nutrition and health effects of whey and milk-derived ingredients

• Develop and transfer tailored nutrition and health science content to AFI sales, AFI customers and AFI Stakeholders

• Track nutrition science trends and developments of relevance for food and health food industries and convert insights into business opportunities

• Become lead in developing nutrition-based sales, and customer support material of relevance for the food and health food industries

• Contribute to fuel our innovation pipeline

• Work in close collaboration with peers and various AFI colleagues in the commercial organization


You can foresee having a specialist role and a challenging job in a dynamic and expanding industry. You will establish a broad collaborative network with peer and other highly professional stakeholders in Arla, the food industry and relevant nutrition science communities.


Who are you?

You are a skilled communicator with specialist human nutrition knowledge. You hold at least a Master’s degree within Human Nutrition, and have solid experience with analysis, interpretation, and communication of scientific data to both those skilled and unskilled in the field, either from a similar position in the industry or other relevant job experience. Via your educational background, you have acquired specialist knowledge on how nutrition impacts overall human health,  metabolism. physiology, and performance. 


In addition to your educational background you have:

• a flair and passion for translating and communicating nutrition science knowledge

• the ability and become motivated by making the complex field of nutrition science accessible and clear to non-specialists

• a passion and a keen eye for the scenery of nutrition research and for keeping yourself updated

• experience as project manager and know how to define goals and achieve them

• an open mind and the skills to get your opinion and ideas across, and it comes natural to you to manoeuvre in a major matrix organisation where you build positive relations to colleagues

• the ability to apply a holistic approach for identifying and creating solutions

• great communication skills with strong proficiencies in, both verbal and written, Danish and English.
