Warehouse & Outbound Director- Arla Denmark, Viby J

As Outbound & Warehouse Director you will be responsible for our warehouse and outbound operations in Denmark which is part of Arla Foods’ Danish Logistics organization. You will be based in Viby J, Aarhus and assume responsibility for leading approximately 1000 employees with 11 direct reports, and you will cooperate both with external suppliers and internal colleagues in production, commercial as well as with your counterparts in other Arla markets.

We operate in 5 Warehouses and we share the facility in three of our sites with the Production organization (Hobro, Christiansfeld and Slagelse). You will look forward to cross-functional collaboration with production, with them having the full responsibility for the facility in these sites,” says Senior Director of Logistics Denmark, Hasse Fensman.

How you will make an impact

As the Warehouse & Outbound Director, your job is making sure we deliver on our main targets. The primary focus areas are the following:

• Responsibilities and Objectives: As the Warehouse & Outbound Director, your responsibility is to ensure we meet our key targets in health & safety, product quality, on-time delivery, claims, and finance, in collaboration with the teams.
• Leadership and Collaboration: In cooperation with your leadership team, you will prioritize the people agenda and the health & safety agenda while maintaining an efficient operational setup and providing excellent customer service.
• Focus on Teamwork: You emphasize strong teamwork to ensure we meet our main KPIs.
• Sustainability and Digital Improvement: You demonstrate passion and drive to not only strengthen our sustainability journey but also advance the digital improvement agenda.
• Strategic and Tactical Role: Reporting to the Senior Director of Logistics, you will play a key role at both the strategic and tactical levels, leading cross-functional projects with your colleagues in the logistics leadership team to strengthen our logistics for the future.

What will make you successful

You have brilliant leadership skills, customer focus and technical insight. You hold a university degree within Supply Chain or Engineering or similar supplemented with several years of leadership experience from warehousing and/or outbound Logistics.

• Supply Chain Expertise: You possess broad and solid supply chain knowledge especially within warehouse and/or outbound, including experience in people management.
• Experience in Warehouse Development: Experience in warehouse development, particularly in automation, Lean tools, and change management, is an advantage.
• Communication and Personal Impact: Your success relies on your ability to manage people and relationships. You must have the communicative skills and personal impact to tailor your message for specific target groups, such as employees, other leaders, commercial and supply chain functions, or external partners like suppliers and customers.
• Key Personal Qualities: You are open-minded, decisive, and results-oriented, enabling you to establish strong relationships with management groups as well as internal and external stakeholders.
• Development and Motivation: You have the ability to develop and motivate people, identify talent, and plan for succession. Your focus is on both self and team development.
• Language Proficiency: You are proficient in both written and spoken English.
