Sustainability Business Partner - Aarhus

Join our Commercial Sustainability & Business Partnering (CSBP) team as a Sustainability Business Partner and help shape the future of dairy. You will act as a strategic advisor and proactive partner across the business, supporting both the development and delivery of Arla’s sustainability strategy.

How you will make an impact

The Commercial Sustainability & Business Partnering team leads Arla’s commercial sustainability initiatives, driving concepts, programmes, and partnerships. From owning key initiatives like FarmAhead™ Customer Partnership, managing commercial sustainability data, to developing future-focused programmes, we are central to embedding sustainability in the business.

Our Sustainability Business Partners serve as trusted advisors across Arla’s organisation, translating sustainability ambitions into action across climate, nature, and people topics—with a strong focus on supporting our commercial teams in Europe and beyond.

Our business partners play a critical role in connecting strategy with daily operations. They ensure that our ambitions are not just communicated, but understood, embedded, and activated across the company. As our new Sustainability Business Partner, you will bring our strategy to life by working with key internal stakeholders, driving capability building, and leading programmes. You will be at the forefront of sustainability engagement and delivery in our commercial teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as business partner for Arla Foods Ingredients, Trading, and selected EU markets and functions
• Represent sustainability in local market leadership teams ensuring global and local alignment
• Strengthen internal understanding of our Future26 strategy through impactful initiatives, sustainability program and capability building.
• Run Arlas sustainability programme, ensuring setting up and driving process for strong integration of Global strategy into local business planning and harness local input into global agenda.
• Help develop and secure delivery of the FarmAhead™ Customer Partnership together with local teams, hereunder also local customer reports
• Help deepen the connection with the Eurozone/International sustainability community and mature the business partnering role
• Support the commercialisation of sustainability across key markets in Europe and internationally.

This role demands strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills to simplify complex topics and deliver clear, actionable insights.

This role is based in our HQ in Aarhus, but remote work from other Northern Europe offices (Dusseldorf, Nijkerk, Stockholm, Leeds, Helsinki or Copenhagen) is possible.

What will make you successful

We imagine that the right candidate can identify with most of the below bullet points:

• A Master’s degree in business, sustainability, communication or similar.
• At least 5 years’ experience in sustainability, project management or business partnering, ideally in a global organization or consultancy.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong drive, motivation, and passion for sustainability.
• Strategic mindset and a hands-on approach.
• Ability to translate complex content into tangible outcomes.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
