Strategic Architect for Arla Foods Ingredients - Viby

In your role as Strategic Architect, you will be a key player in our organization and will, together with the rest of the AFI IT team, be an instrumental part of succeeding on our digitalization journey.

Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) is an independent company within the Arla Foods Group, consisting of around 2000 colleagues globally. AFI is the global leader in delivering premium nutrition for the global Early Life Nutrition, Medical, Sports Nutrition, and Food Industries – all through the power of whey protein. In the AFI IT team, we are responsible for inspiring, maturing, and delivering strong solutions to AFI through our delivery setup in Arla IT.

How you will make an impact

This role involves learning and understanding the AFI business and Arla IT landscape. Through this knowledge, your key focus will be on guiding the AFI business in terms of their IT solutions. This can be in the early stages, collaborating with Enterprise Architects as well as the business stakeholders. Here, you will be driving the technical direction and co-designing the roadmap, of course, in close dialogue and collaboration with business stakeholders aligned with the business strategy.

On the other hand, your task will also be to look into existing IT solutions and seeing the potential improvement areas in close collaboration with Arla IT architects. In this context, you will be identifying solutions for the entire value chain, and you will have to navigate the differences between AFI and the rest of Arla Foods from an IT perspective.

You will be based in the Arla IT department in Viby, Aarhus, with some occasional travel activities (approximately 20-30 days per year).

In addition, the role includes:

• You will play a key role in the development and maturation of new projects, working closely with the appropriate delivery streams in Arla IT.
• Together with the business, you will make informed decisions on which solutions to implement, ensuring the delivery of desired business value.
• You will have the overall responsibility for the end-to-end architecture, encompassing multiple cloud technologies and collaborative applications.
• You will set the technical direction for your area and collaborate with a group of solution architects to ensure a global, standardized, and scalable architectural design across our markets.

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you:

• Are a highly experienced IT architect and have proven yourself in the area of Enterprise-grade applications and platforms over the past years. With your technical insights, you can provide valuable guidance and navigate a complex system landscape.
• Have a thorough understanding of the business processes throughout the value chain.
• Are familiar and will be able to familiarize yourself with modern SaaS and Packaged solutions, along with Arla-developed PaaS services and Azure integrations.
• Possess a strong knowledge of IT development, modern architecture, and cloud, with preference given to experience in sales and supply chain domains and familiarity with platforms like SAP, Azure, and Aveva.
• Have knowledge of advanced analytics, data-driven insights, and IIoT, which are increasingly important for future designs, especially as AFI focuses on digitalizing their supply chain.

You possess the ability to estimate the implementation of a potential solution and confidently delve into the details yourself. Your strength lies in effectively communicating with both business and technical colleagues. With a positive attitude, you enjoy working independently and thrive in ambitious environments, where your technical insight and collaboration skills lead to great results. You're proactive in seeking input and unafraid to ask for support when needed.
