Senior Master Data Governance Program Manager - Aarhus

Then you might be who we are looking for to this new role as Senior Master Data Governance Program Manager.

 

The role is created as a consequence of our recently announced Future 2026 strategy as Arla plans to accelerate the digitalization of our business. To be ready for the journey we will strengthen our data practice hereunder our master data practice. So the foundation is set if you are ready to take the driver’s seat. The role is based at our HQ in Aarhus.


 

The job


This leadership role will partner with the senior management across the Arla Foods business to establish and operationalize the master data governance strategy and practice, including securing the right engagement, role creation and tool selection and implementation. You will have a direct reporting line to Vice President Mogens Kaspersen who is head of Corporate Finance and Global Shared Services.

 

In various parts of the Arla Foods organisation master data governance are already being improved and strengthened. The role of the Senior Master Data Governance Manager will therefore also be to build on our current experience and expand and align this in close collaboration with the current global and local master data governance managers.

 

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Be an active champion for data governance, ie adjust and execute the strategy, roadmap and practice for master data governance, including developing and executing master data management policies and practices.
  • Work with senior management to anchor ownership and formalize the governance roles.
  • Identify and consult with partners at all levels within the organization, including data stewards, project owners, business subject matter experts, data and analytics experts, and IT stakeholders around data governance best practices and standards.
  • Drive the design and ongoing maintenance of data standards and data quality standards in support of organizational initiatives.
  • Lead data governance teams and develop tools/solutions to enable data governance across Arla Foods. Identify and document metrics to measure and track the progress of data governance across the enterprise.

 

As data and data governance becomes more and more important for our business, the right candidate might have the opportunity to grow into a broader data governance role.

 

 

The candidate

 

You have hands-on experience in leading significant change management initiatives in large, complex organizations and experience in leading teams in a cross functional setup. You have extensive project management experience and thus know that the successful implementations often come down to your ability to influence across multiple levels and gain alignment of peers and executives across business groups. You do this thanks to your business understanding as well as your excellent communication skills (that includes listening), your strong presentation and facilitation skills, and your confidence in decision making.

 

You have a solid background within master data or information management, and have great experience in establishing data quality control and implementing data standards or architecture management. Your experience is backed by a Master’s degree in Business Adm, Computer Science or a related field.
