Senior Legal Counsel - Sustainability Compliance (Aarhus or Stockholm)

Then head for the position as Senior Legal Counsel for Sustainability Compliance in the Legal department of Arla Foods.
 

Reporting into the Head of Legal – Europe, you will join a global team of highly skilled colleagues who take pride in providing legal counselling within all business areas for Arla Foods. The position is a global role and can be based in Viby, Aarhus/DK or Stockholm/Sweden. Irrespective of the location, you will work closely with your legal colleagues in the UK, Germany, Denmark and Sweden and act as a trusted global business partner.
 

How you will make an impact

In this role, you will have a multifaceted role encompassing business partnership with the global Sustainability and Marketing organization, claims governance, and anticipation of regulatory developments. You will serve as the first point of contact for legal sustainability matters, review claims and campaigns with local market lawyers, monitor regulatory developments, and connect with stakeholders across Europe
 

More specifically, your areas of responsibility include:

  • Claims governance:
    • Supervise legal compliance of green claims.
    • Align with relevant expert functions such as CSR, Sustainable Packaging etc.
  • Business Partner to Global Sustainability and Marketing organization:
    • Act as legal business partner and review claims and campaigns with local market lawyers.
    • Coordinate sustainability initiatives across markets.
    • Provide legal advice on legal compliance of sustainability commercialization projects
  • Anticipate regulatory developments:
    • Assess impact of regulatory changes and climate litigation.
    • Connect with stakeholders across Europe.

 

What will make you successful
To succeed in this role, we imagine that:      

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Law or Business Law, supplemented by at least 4 years (post bar admission) working experience from a law firm or company.
  • It is important that you have a strong interest and ideally knowledge about general marketing and commercial matters as well as a fundamental interest for sustainability matters and business.  
  • You take pride in delivering high-quality solutions and services.
  • Finally, your language skills cover full proficiency in legal English and preferably Danish, written as well as spoken. Knowledge of other languages will be of great value.

As a true legal business partner, you are dedicated to finding solutions and strengthening relationships with stakeholders.
