Senior Engineering & Technology Manager - Advanced Technology - Viby

Do you want to set your clear mark on the Advanced Technology agenda in Arla and be part of driving the transformation towards automation at our dairies? Then this is the right next step for you.

Join our Engineering & Technology team and work together with technical specialists and Project Managers who work across the organization to deliver large CAPEX projects and ensure our production sites have the technologies to meet both customer demands and strategic priorities.

As one of the world’s largest dairy producers, we believe our nutritious dairy products contribute to a better future for generations to come, but we also have a responsibility to reduce our climate impact. That’s why we aim to reach Carbon Net Zero in all of our operations globally, from our sites to our trucks, by 2050. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring Arla is using the best available utilities technologies to achieve our goals and will have a direct input into our CO2 reduction targets.

Amongst others, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive implementation on Technology in selected strategic areas and support implementation of new Advanced Technology on selected Sites with focus on Digitalization and Automation (e.g. AGV’s Robots & Co-bots)
  • Setting new high standards for Advanced Technology Solutions on process equipment in our dairy sites in collaboration with relevant colleagues
  • Connecting to and initiating partnership relations to various technology leading suppliers in Advanced Technology and Automation
  • Creating site workstreams e.g. involving and guiding dairy staff, external consultants and knowledge driven suppliers to deliver cost effective optimization opportunities
  • Identify and document Site processes, that will benefit from Advanced Technology
  • Support sites in troubleshooting malfunctional equipment or its process integration and assist in resolving identified issues, related to Advanced Technology (e.g. AGV’s and Robots)
  • Support development of Global Platform Standards on other selected Technology areas within E&T
  • Work closely with both Engineering teams at our production sites and our central Sustainability PMO.

Who are you?

Preferably you have experience from production facilities in food & beverage industries or related like e.g. biochemical or the feed industry. You have a relevant theoretical background, however most important is your several years of experience of leading projects within cutting-edge technologies within manufacturing. This could contain Artificial Intelligence in Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation and other technologies that increase efficiencies at our Sites.

You will be a “go to” person within Arla’s Supply Chain so you will bring a deep knowledge of these areas with a strong interest in new technologies within Foods production. Furthermore, you bring clear leadership skills, credibility and a results focus to drive our technology journey and ensure our sustainability ambitions are achieved.

You are skilled at building and developing relationships on a technical level with your team and the production sites, but also with other less technical functions eg procurement, finance etc where you will build business cases and drive projects.

With production sites across Denmark, Germany, UK and Sweden the location of this position is flexible but we expect regular travel across these locations and to our HQ in Aarhus, Denmark.
