Senior Business Development Manager, Sustainability - Aarhus

About the job

 

Sustainability is a focal pilar of Arla’s new corporate strategy and as our new Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in executing on the critical strategic projects to ensure we meet our ambitions.

 

You will be part of a team that is responsible for strategy development and execution of our global sustainability strategy, including review of the long term sustainability strategy, translation into annual plans and oversight of execution of the most important priorities in close collaboration with people across the organisation. In addition, the team has been added the responsibility to drive complex break-through innovation projects on sustainability, which is why we are expanding the team.


The global sustainability agenda is anchored in Arla’s Sustainability Board consisting of four members of the Executive Management Team (EMT) and representatives from across the value chain.

 

You will report to Sofie Biltoft-Riis, Head of MICS Sustainability Development, and will work closely with senior leaders across the business in one of Denmark’s largest companies.

 

You will be responsible for identifying, scoping, and leading projects, and make sure that we deliver on time and of high quality, while securing commitment from our stakeholders, both locally and at our headquarters. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Be part of identifying the next big strategic moves for Arla within sustainability
  • Lead key projects:
  • Scope the projects, set up the team, define key deliverables and timeline.
  • Lead the delivery of the project including managing time, scope and quality of project delivery.
  • Manage, lead and coach project team members in the business
  • Develop and present recommendations for the Steering Committe, Farmer owners and Senior leaders .
  • Manage interdependencies, resolve roadblocks and balance different business considerations.
  • Drive continuous business anchoring through close dialogue with sponsors and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient project completion, incl. handover and adjustment of project organization if needed.

 

Who are you?

 

You are a passionate project manager, driven by result and ambition. Your strategic mindset and project management experience, combined with your stakeholder management skills, enable you to lead projects independently and get all relevant stakeholders onboard. Furthermore:

 

  • You have a relevant degree at Master’s level, e.g. within business.
  • You have several years’ of project management experience from either top-tier management consulting, internal strategy and business development in an international company or with leading strategic sustainability projects.
  • You have strong experience within project management of complex, cross-functional projects.
  • You have a strategic mindset and knows how to scope the projects to focus on critical tasks.
  • You are a team player with excellent stakeholder management capabilities and knows how to create followership across team members, stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • You have an excellent command of PowerPoint and Excel.
  • You are fluent in English.

 

It is not a requirement that you possess direct experience within sustainability as long as you come with strong project management capabilities and a passion for the subject.
