How you will make an impact
As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you secure that AFI’s products are compliant with existing legislations in the responsible markets. You will also evaluate the influence or impacts of new standards (regulatory or customer driven) on our products and business. It will of course also be expected that you resolve day-to-day issues.
Furthermore the key responsibilities of this position are the following.
- Provide strategic and ad hoc assistance to the business units on legal requirements related to production, product development, communication and registrations.
- Support the business units building up the necessary knowledge and procedures related to food regulatory affairs.
- Solve problems in relation to the interpretation of current legislation on food vis-a-vis the authorities.
- Support the business units in their handling of food safety incidents from the regulatory point of view.
- Monitor regulation changes in the responsible regions and updates to the relevant stakeholders when necessary.
- Identify lobby needs in the organization according to business plan and participate in lobby networks.
- Work with stakeholders across functions to ensure the regulatory compliance and succeed in regulatory approvals for market access of products, including writing dossiers when needed.
*This is a temporary position until the end of Q1, 2026, with the possibility of developing it into a permanent position.
Who are you?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, independent and detail-oriented person who has experience working with either food ingredients or dairy. Either way, you have a passion for developing into a regulatory specialist with the capabilities to drive AFI regulatory agenda and a passion for learning more about our whey protein based products.
You have a deep business understanding for the full value chain in a food company, a global mindset and the capabilities to take our services and support to the next level. You know that clear and concise communication is an important key to success. Additionally, it is important that you have solid interpersonal skills and the power to interact with authorities and decision makers.
Furthermore, we imagine:
- You hold a min. master degree in food science, natural science, or a similar field within food safety and technology.
- Experience working in a regulatory affairs department, preferably working with dairy ingredients, and in particular experience towards MENA region will be an advantage.
- Language skills: You are fluent in English, both in speak and writing.
- It’s an advantage if you can read and write Arabic, since MENA region is a big part of the focus in this job and you will be expected to engage with external stakeholders in the region.
