Product owner, E-Commerce - Aarhus

About the job

As a Product Owner for E-Comm you will join the Commercial Eurozone business and work closely with the Commercial IT Agile program, which is focused on delivering IT enabled business transformation to our Sales, Marketing and Service functions.


Your day job will involve ownership of our ‘Connect’ solution. In the longer term, you will also look to driving other projects within the E-Commerce space and become the Go-to person for this area.


Arla Connect” is a customer focused self-service platform, that will enable our customers to order products and interact with Arla ensuring a positive customer experience that creates opportunities for sales growth.


In the role as Product Owner, you are the content authority on a team level. You are responsible for selecting, prioritizing and accepting solutions (stories) that feed into the delivery of the project. And acting as a customer proxy, you represent the customer (the business) in front of your team. As such, your job is to secure the quality of the business solutions delivered. To do so, you continuously align with your business stakeholders. You are empowered to approve the team’s solutions.


Key activities

  • Diligently gather requirements and capture as user stories that can be executed
  • Prioritizing the team backlog (deliverables), streamlining the execution of program priorities and maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components the team is responsible for
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager and other stakeholders—including other product owners—to define and prioritize your team’s projects, feeding into the product vision
  • Facilitating the insights needed to make the right solutions and conducting e.g. workshops to come up with the best of ideas
  • Delivering the specific business solutions – digital and physical – that enable us to evolve, adapt and continuously control and improve our capabilities in the years to come.
  • Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of your product, collaborate with the Business Change Manager on product launch communication, training and enablement and ongoing product adoption tactics.


About you

As a Product Owner, you are expected to be able to make decisions, stand by them and explain why they are right. This job is to a great extent about prioritizing, collaborating with partners outside your team to understand the business needs and issues and being able to identify the solutions with the biggest value. Thus, your force is to think what solution has the biggest impact and requires the least effort, is it possible, and how do I communicate this to others so that they also see that the solutions are great?


Moreover, we expect you to have;

  • Working knowledge of E-Commerce channel within a B2B or B2C environment
  • Experience of E-Commerce platforms/solutions, having previously taken a role in delivering them across functions and countries
  • Proven experience of working effectively with diverse stakeholders, being an excellent communicator, negotiator and problem solver
  • Having the ability to be able to take a leadership role in decision making for your team and product
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile (Scrum) environment or a similar role
  • Be comfortable working with distributed teams across multiple time zones
