Product Owner, Data and Insights - Aarhus

We are looking for a bright, energetic and ambitious person to join the Commercial Eurozone Team. This is an opportunity to work with a great agile team and help us achieve our mission to deliver action-oriented insight from data to the Arla business.

As Product Owner, you will play a critical role in capturing the company's insights needed to make decisions to drive our growth agenda. Your experience means that it is natural for you to translate these requirements into user stories for the data engineers, BI developers and insight analysts. You are a passionate advocate for your stakeholders and will drive the deliveries to completion. Completion means more than complete code - your definition of done always takes into account the actual launch and value creation in the business.

About the job

As a Product Owner for Data and Insights, you will join the Commercial Eurozone business and work closely with the Commercial IT Agile program, which is focused on delivering IT enabled business transformation to our Sales, Marketing and Service functions. Commercial IT is at the forefront of driving growth for Arla, and you will be at the heart of our strategic plans for revenue growth. Your day job will involve a strong understanding of NRM (Net Revenue management), enabling our products to be sold at the right place, time and price. This is intrinsically linked to our passion for data quality, whether that is through accuracy in our master data and PIM systems, or through the development of a strong and stable data foundation that includes 3rd party data such as Nielsen, or EPOS.

In the role as product owner, you are the content authority on a team level. You are responsible for selecting, prioritizing and accepting solutions (stories) that feed into the delivery of the project. And acting as a customer proxy, you represent the customer (the business) in front of your team. As such, your job is to secure the quality of the business solutions delivered. To do so, you continuously align with your business stakeholders. You are empowered to approve the team’s solutions. Also, your tasks include

  • Develop a deep understanding of current and future needs of our stakeholders
  • Work in close collaboration with the Product Manager to execute on our long term roadmap
  • Diligently gather requirements and capture as user stories that can be executed
  • Prioritizing the team backlog (deliverables), streamlining the execution of program priorities and maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components the team is responsible for
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager, Business Owner and other stakeholders—including other product owners—to define and prioritize your team’s projects
  • Helping your team succeed, facilitating the insights needed to make the right solutions and conducting e.g. workshops to come up with the best of ideas
  • Work collaboratively with a delivery team of Data Engineers, BI developers and Insight Analysts to design and deliver products that provide the insights our stakeholders require to make strategic and tactical business decisions
  • Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of your product, collaborate with the Business Change Manager on product launch communication, training and enablement and ongoing product adoption tactics.
  • Provide ongoing support to stakeholders and end users of our data products
  • Monitor ongoing use of data products to help the Product Manager make invest/divest decisions

The Data and Insights Team operates a self-managing (Scaled Agile) Scrum team and has the necessary competences to chase big goals as an independent unit. Your job will be to take product leadership in the team, own the product vision and steer us on the path to more impact.

About you

As a product owner, you are expected to be able to make decisions, stand by them and explain why they are right. This job is to a great extent about prioritizing, collaborating with partners outside your team to understand the business needs and issues and being able to identify the solutions with the biggest value. Thus, your force is to think what solution has the biggest impact and requires the least effort; is it possible; and how do I communicate this to others so that they also see that the solutions are great? Moreover, we expect you to have

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile (Scrum) environment or a similar role
  • Proven experience of working effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones
  • Knowledge of sales and service platforms, technical integrations and functional enhancements
  • Knowledge and experience working with data & analytics
