Nutrition Scientist, Pediatric nutrition, Arla Foods Ingredients - Aarhus

You will become part of the department business area Pediatric within AFI, which is responsible for developing, documenting and selling ingredients to the global pediatric nutrition industry. You will join a team of four highly skilled Nutrition Scientists, who ensure sales into the pediatric segment by securing the scientific evidence of our ingredients. Furthermore, your position will enclose broad collaborative network with our highly professional stakeholders in AFI like our R&D department, relevant academia partners and in the pediatric nutrition industry.


You secure scientific evidence of our ingredients within brain and cognitive development.


As Nutrition Scientist it will be your mission to support the business by developing and securing the scientific evidence. More specifically, you will be collecting, communicating and generating scientific documentation of ingredients linked to early life brain and cognitive development and secure our ingredient positioning within the pediatric nutrition industry. It will be your responsibility to manage pre-clinical and clinical trials within the area of brain and cognitive development, and you will be overall accountable for securing the science evidence base supporting our ingredients within this field.


Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Stay informed and updated on scientific evidence within the area of brain and cognitive development, and the relevant dairy components linked to this field through literature reviews, participation in relevant conferences, communication with key opinion leaders etc.
  • Develop and drive our documentation strategy within the area of brain and cognitive development, which include setting up and managing pre-clinical trials and clinical collaborations within academia and industry partners
  • Identify relevant models within the brain development area for pre-clinical investigations  
  • Support our commercial organisation with insights within your field of expertise to secure ingredient science communication   
  • Participate in customer meetings to share your insights with their scientist

Other responsibilities includes fuel our development pipeline with ingredients supporting brain development, contribute to our research strategy, contribute to regulatory dossiers and our science based marketing material.

Skilled Scientist and project manager with brain research background and good communication skills

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD degree within the field of brain research or minimum MSc with some years of relevant experience. Post-doctoral or similar experience within the field of brain research is preferred. You are capable of navigating within relevant analytical methods and securing the prober interpretation of complex data within the brain research area. Experience with managing and running pre-clinical or clinical trials is preferred.

Your experience with acquisition and communication of scientific knowledge will become key for our ambition to continuously expand and strengthen our understanding of how our ingredients affect this important area.

You will proactively use your scientific skills and knowledge to bring scientific evidence forward with the goal of supporting the commercialisation and sale of our ingredients. Also, as an experienced project manager, you know how to define goals and achieve them. You have an open mind and the skills to get your opinion and ideas across, and it comes natural to you to manoeuvre in a major matrix organisation where you build relations to colleagues. You can work independently as well excelling in teamwork.  Finally, you are a great communicator with strong English proficiency and the ability to make your field accessible to non-specialists. You should expect approx. 25 travel days with the purpose of visiting customers presenting the scientific evidence, join conferences and collaboration projects with academia.
