Head of Milk & Yoghurt Category, Arla - Aarhus

In this key role within the Danish market, you will have a unique opportunity to influence the development of Arla Foods' milk and yoghurt categories and brands. As the Head of the Milk & Yoghurt Category, you will utilize your expertise in marketing, category management, brand development, and commercial acumen to define innovative strategies for driving growth in the Danish market. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing at Arla Denmark, this position is based in Aarhus. You will lead a team of 5 people, requiring your physical presence in Aarhus for a minimum of 3-4 days per week.

 

How you will make an impact

As the Head of Milk & Yoghurt, your primary responsibility will be to develop some of Arla's big brands, and categories within the Danish market. Working alongside a skilled team, you will drive category growth by identifying optimal brand positions and ensuring the implementation of innovative strategies that cater to consumer and customer needs.

 

Given that milk & yoghurt is one of the largest categories in the FMCG industry, this role will be challenging. You will need to leverage your marketing and commercial expertise, as well as contribute to an ambitious sustainability agenda. Leading the development and performance of renowned household brands such as Cheasy® and Yoggi®, this opportunity is certainly exciting.

 

To support your success, you will be part of one of Denmark's largest FMCG marketing departments, equipped with cutting-edge competences in branding, category management, media, digital marketing, innovation, and product management. You will inspire and motivate your team and colleagues to deliver outstanding performance.

 

As part of the Danish Leadership Team in Marketing, you and your team will:

 

  • Lead the development of category vision and strategy
  • Determine brand positions and strategies for local brands (e.g., Cheasy® and Yoggi®), while aligning with global brand strategies within the milk and yoghurt categories
  • Drive innovation and new product development processes, from ideation to market launch, in close collaboration with sales and innovation colleagues, based on consumer insights and customer feedback
  • Lead media and digital strategy and execution

 

How will you be a success

To excel in this role, you should have experience working with major categories and brands. A proven track record in brand building, business opportunity identification, and collaboration with sales colleagues will be essential. Successfully executing innovations from concept to market and managing significant media budgets, including digital channels, should also be part of your skill set. You possess a strong command of strategic thinking and execution, and you are motivated by both long-term goals and short-term deliverables. Furthermore, your CV should reflect several years of leadership experience. You thrive in complex stakeholder environments and have ideally worked in both local and global roles.

 

To be successful, you should:

 

  • Hold a master's degree in commerce or marketing and have extensive experience in the FMCG industry
  • Possess a structured and analytical mindset, enabling you to maintain a strategic view on category development and brand building
  • Be results-oriented, financially astute, and accustomed to managing profit and loss (P&L)
  • Have experience executing brands and products through retail channels
  • Demonstrate mature leadership qualities aligned with Arla's leadership values: Lead, Sense, Create
  • Have excellent spoken and written English skills
