Head of Instore Excellence, Arla Denmark - Aarhus

We offer an exciting leadership role in Arla Denmark´s Customer Marketing team, where you will lead the Instore team from strategy to implementation, committed to supporting our business growth and ultimately inspire shoppers at the moment of truth – when they decide on a product instore or online!


Translate shopper behavior to best-in-class instore campaigns and activities

As our new Head of Instore Excellence, you will proactively and independently lead the Instore Excellence team to deliver key strategic workstreams for Instore, Trade and Space Management. That includes defining future strategic roadmap for how categories and brands excel instore (Perfect store, Omni-channel capabilities, measure trade marketing and cooler spend effectiveness as well as space management).


You and your team of 3 will take the lead on developing and executing Instore plans across all of our brands and at all of our customers in Arla Denmark. You work to ensure the perfect delivery of activation of brands and products instore. You use your understanding of shopper behavior and store opportunities to develop the full funnel shopper strategy with best-in-class solutions. Together with your team, you execute instore concepts and campaigns at our retailers in close collaboration with both our sales and marketing departments.


In addition, it is your responsibility to seek new and innovative concepts and opportunities to keep developing the Trade Marketing area. You will have a large contact base working with multiple internal stakeholders as well as external agencies and partners.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Establish new processes and ways of working for the Instore team
  • Drive overall instore support towards Sales & Marketing activities and projects
  • Drive the yearly plan for shopper activities instore in cooperation with the Marketing leadership team, Category teams and Sales
  • Ensure customer and shopper insights are captured, and develop in store execution plans for new product launches
  • Create and support execution of engaging instore shopper activities and events at our retailers
  • Build positive relationships with key customers to secure Arla’s share of voice
  • Prepare selling-in materials with winning retailer arguments to both KAM and to our Field Sales team
  • Secure onboarding of flawless execution by Fields Sales team
  • Understanding and optimize financial ROI in order to use most cost effective activations
  • Managing shopper marketing budgets and timescales including negotiating the best cost for media and agency fees


You shape the retail landscape with your creative solutions

As a person you work independent, proactive, out-going and able to coach and lead team members of the Instore Excellence team. Your passion for retail and your positive attitude gives energy to the people around you, and you have the ability to build positive relationships and create commitment to the direction you set. We are looking for a candidate that brings experience and an “outside in” perspective – for example, you proactively look for Shopper Marketing trends and innovations that will contribute and add ambitions to our strong Instore capabilities.


Furthermore you most likely:

  • bring experience as a people manager
  • bring 5+ years of experience from commercial marketing roles preferably from FMCG – or you have a background from an agency or a retailer HQ
  • are able to navigate in Excel and data dashboards
  • are fluent in Danish and English
