About the job

At our HQ in Aarhus, you will join our Customer Marketing Department. Here, you will lead 8 highly skilled Commercial Developers responsible for providing relevant insights and recommendations on the FMCG and Dairy market in general and all of Arla’s dairy categories – from our fresh milk and cheese to Lurpak® butter and across all retail and foodservice customers.


Together, we support our sales and marketing departments with recommendations based on data, analyses and market insights on shopper behaviour, point of purchase strategies, location of our categories in the stores, market share development and much more. To support our analyses and recommendations, we use data sources and tools like Power BI, Nielsen, Kauza, Catman and macroeconomic perspectives.


To help Sales and Marketing deliver on their objectives, you:

  • Lead, coach and develop your team to ensure that we deliver on the agreed business priorities
  • Provide thought leadership and in depth-knowledge on development within categories, retail and foodservice customers and end users - and translate these into recommended actions
  • Drive new and existing strategic commercial projects and agendas to create even more value for Arla, retail and foodservice customers and end users. E.g. help driving our Commercial Wheel including Market Forecast, Business Planning, Customer Meetings, Yearly Negotiations etc.
  • Look into how we can continuously take our customer marketing initiatives to the next level, e.g. in becoming an even more valued advisor and business partner for sales and marketing
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Marketing Director and the rest of the Customer Marketing Leadership Team on strategic agendas and new development initiatives
  • Bring in external market inspiration to challenge status quo


The Commercial Development Team is part of the Customer Marketing Department in Arla Denmark. The department has been on an intense journey the last 3 years to become an even more valued commercial partner in Arla Denmark. The department also includes other teams and functions; Commercial Price Management, Net Revenue Management, Management of Assortment Complexity, Instore and Trade.

Who are you?

With your profound can-do-attitude, you know how to coach your team to turn data into actionable insights. You can easily shift between operational and strategic tasks, allowing you to look into details while at the same time keeping your focus on the big picture.


Moreover, you:

  • Have proven leadership experience as a manager
  • Several years of experience working in a category or sales role in a FMCG company or retailer – or from a relevant consulting company
  • Bring a business-related Masters’ degree or equivalent
  • Have experience in converting data and insights to commercial recommendations and actions
  • Have a natural interest in shoppers and consumers and therefore a broad understanding of the Danish shopper/consumer market
  • Know how to drive larger projects and develop new initiatives
  • Speak and write English effortlessly
