Farm Sustainability Manager - Aarhus

Do you have insights in agrobiology, biodiversity and a beating heart for nature and dairy?  Do you have what it takes to engage and support our farmer-owners in our climate journey and facilitate their climate actions on farm? And enable us as a co-operative to reach our climate targets?

 

In our Future26 strategy, we are keen to step up on how we support Arla farmer owners in reaching our ambitious sustainability and climate targets. Next level is including even more data and actions on nature and biodiversity to be able to paint the true picture of dairy.

 

In this role you will be the center of knowledge sharing among our farmer owners and a lighthouse for inspiring to sustainable actions focusing on crop nutrition, soil, natural areas and biodiversity. You will facilitate meetings to inspire farmer-owners to investigate and make climate actions and become a relevant part of the strategy at farm level and make it possible to be carried out in the everyday management. Together with our data scientists you will turn results from our climate check and sustainability incentive model into relevant farm insights and actions.

 

  • Execute the Arla on-farm Net Zero Sustainability strategy
  • Influencing farmers to implement actions on their farm which will drive their continuous climate journey
  • Engaging stakeholders in the climate journey and facilitating that our farmers receive and act on climate insights, projects and solutions offered by Arla
  • Increasing motivation and acceptance levels of our farmers on sustainability (measured via owner survey)
  • Supporting the business to develop valuable agriculture proof points/stories to commercialize the Arla Brand which will contribute to better returns from the market

 

You will collaborate with colleagues from our farm sustainability team, climate specialist, data scientists and not least with our Agriculture colleagues managing the direct farmer contact.

 

How you will make an impact

In short you are in charge of delivering farm climate workshop programs. This means that you organize and facilitate farmer meetings, farm house/Arla local meetings which will ensure that our farmer-owners know what they need to implement to deliver on their sustainability targets.

 

  • Partnership with Arla’s Centre of Excellence team to develop and implement levers on biodiversity and nature in our climate check and sustainability incentive model
  • Encourage farmers to share knowledge, experiences, concerns and solutions with each other to take impactful climate actions on farm
  • Stakeholder manage and collaborate with key stakeholders around the farmers in their community (advisors, vets, feed consultants, financial institutions etc.
  • Maximize our farmers points in our Incentive model
  • Work with our commercial colleagues to drive value from our on-farm actions through our Customer Sustainability Program

 

How you will be a success

With your substantial agricultural advisory background, you are eager to be part of developing the dairy industry together with our farmer owners, with the stakeholders supporting farmers and your local and global Arla colleagues. Presumably you have a degree in Agri biology/Agriculture and 5+ years of experience from working closely with dairy farmers.

 

You are a strong networker who can drive actions through a strong ability to influence and communicate. You know what you are talking about and always strive to be authentic and to the point when managing and mobilizing advisors, vets and other stakeholders in the dairy industry and local communities.

 

Moreover, you:

  • Have a agricultural background and strong interest in sustainability and skills in biology linked to greenhouse gas emissions and nature.
  • The ability to use data driven insight and analytical dashboards
  • A scientific interest and the ability to interpret and communicate climate insights and relevant learnings from climate expert or external experts.
  • Have the ability to work in a highly international environment
  • Speak and write English and Danish effortlessly. Other languages can be an advantage.

You will be based in our Viby head office and will have to be ready to attend farmer and stakeholder meetings across the country. Working from home is possible to some extent.
