Data Scientist

Then you might be the next Data Scientist we are looking for in The Barn in Arla.


“In this position, you’re the specialist in charge of developing data models to support a data-first mind-set in The Barn. You will play a key role in strengthening our data agenda across all our activations, comms and media executions,” explains Global Head of Tech & Data, Rasmus Friis.


About the job

Your primary role will be to continuously develop best-in-class data models that support business ob-jectives and improve our marketing and commercial performance. We have lots of interesting data al-ready available on food habits, consumer trends, media performance data, sales data, etc. – we just need the right skills and mindset to turn these data into value for our business.


In short, you’ll play a key role in bringing data and insights to the forefront of everything we do in The Barn. More specifically, your responsibility will include the following:


  • Ongoing data analysis to determine which data model to design and hypothesis to test
  • Develop data models and effective dashboards that form insights and conclusions on consumer behavior and business performance - using Python and Power BI.
  • Use advanced analytical techniques eg Regression and Classification to perform data modelling to support strategic and operational decisions in the Barn.
  • Implement data models into cloud environment (Google Cloud) to give access to the business
  • Support data and insight requests from marketers and other stakeholders
  • Stakeholder management with IT department, data agencies and internal teams in the Barn.


Who are you?

You are data-driven by heart and passionate about the opportunities made available with machine learning and automation. Furthermore, you have a relentless curiosity for using data models to under-stand consumer behaviour, trends and patterns.


In addition, you have:

  • A degree in IT, computer science, business intelligence or similar
  • Solid experience with Python, R and SQL
  • Proven experience with different data mining, statistics and Machine Learning techniques on re-al data to solve actual problems.
  • Experience working with datasets of different sizes and shapes
  • Great presentation and visualization skills
  • Cloud Experience (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS) would be preferred.
  • Digital marketing knowledge/experience – could be from an agency
  • Strong English skills – verbally and in writing.
