About the job

As a Sustainability Communication Manager in the global communication team, you will have a unique opportunity to develop and deliver communication that maximises the reputational and commercial partnership benefits of Arla’s sustainability programme. Last year, Arla launched a sustainability programme designed to help our customers reach their climate targets while supporting the continued reduction of emissions on our farms. The programme was an industry first and this role will play a key part in its future development.

 

In this varied role you will work closely with colleagues in the sustainability, agriculture, sales and marketing teams. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues in the global communications team to deliver a common communication strategy and plan that sets the direction of our Customer Sustainability Programme to all stakeholders, including customers, farmer owners, media, political, industry and colleagues. 

 

Specific areas of responsibility:

  • Develop and lead a common communication strategy and plan in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders
  • Develop relevant and timely content for both internal and external owned channels, including reports for customers, and messages for media and farmer owners
  • Specify the communication requirements of a new IT solution for the customer programme
  • Work with commercial colleagues to develop communication packs for customers, including Q&As, key messages and proof points
  • Coordinate communication across markets to ensure a level of consistency in our communication while allowing specific market conditions to be addressed
  • As this is a new role, you will have the opportunity to develop the role further in line with the evolution of the programme and the communication needs

Who are you?

Our ideal candidate is a talented communication professional that matches the following:

  • Education at Master’s level within communication, marketing, media, business or journalism
  • At least three years’ work experience in a communications, sales or marketing role
  • Proven experience of developing engaging content and copy for traditional media and digital channels, including websites.
  • Strong collaborator both within own team and with other stakeholders  
  • Ability to manage complex projects with tight deadlines and multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-starter and people person with a drive to reach out, build relations and the ability to act as a trusted advisor  
  • Ambitious and eager to continuously develop own skills  
  • Fluent written and verbal skills in English

 

In addition to being a highly skilled communicator, you can grasp nuances in the business and turn them into engaging communication for Arla. You have sound judgement and are used to navigating at all levels in a large, complex organization.
