To support this, we are recruiting a Central Maintenance Excellence Manager to play a pivotal role in developing, piloting, and leading our central maintenance strategy. This role will be integral to ensuring the long-term performance and reliability of our assets while supporting our broader Operational Excellence journey and playing a key role towards our vision of ZERO losses, ONE team and 100% engagement.
How you will make an impact
As the Central Maintenance Excellence Manager, you will take the lead in shaping the future of maintenance and reliability at Arla. You will be responsible for creating and governing central strategies, standards, and processes that align with our global maintenance goals. In this role, you will work closely with pilot sites to ensure the successful implementation of new maintenance standards and build the necessary capabilities for standardization across multiple locations.
You will also lead maintenance expert communities, providing direction and support for local maintenance experts, helping them to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement. Your role will also involve collaborating with other asset care and operational excellence subject matter experts to create a holistic and fully cross functional asset care strategy.
Furthermore you will also support sites in the establishment of best practices in maintenance cost control including planning, spare parts and asset management financial measures and controls. Following a strong foundation of maintenance cost controls you will also ensure the implementation of best practice maintenance cost optimisation as part of the total operations cost model and ensure the long term improvement of maintenance practices resulting in total cost as well as maintenance cost reduction towards a strategic and efficient holistic asset management strategy and implementation for sites.
Key responsibilities:
•Support the creation, development, and governance of a central maintenance and reliability strategy, establishing best-in-class standards and processes for global operations
•Lead the implementation and capability-building efforts of new maintenance standards at selected pilot sites, ensuring a demonstrated way of working and standard implementation across the organization
•Facilitate centrally anchored maintenance expert communities, guiding local maintenance experts to foster collaboration, share best practices, and develop capabilities
•Collaborate with other asset care and functional subject matter experts including operations, safety, quality and capital engineering leads to develop aligned and cross functional strategies as well as a structured implementation approach
•Implement centrally led maintenance capability-building strategies, supporting local sites in achieving operational excellence maturity and ensuring the long-term sustainability of maintenance improvements.
•Act as champion / ambassador for maintenance cost optimisation developing the central strategy towards best practice financial strategies in maintenance and total operations and developing, coaching and challenging sites on improvement journey as well as fostering strong communities across operations, maintenance and finance.
What will make you successful
You are a seasoned maintenance professional with extensive experience in asset care and maintenance management, particularly in food manufacturing or similar operations environments. You are familiar with advanced maintenance practices, including Total Performance Maintenance (TPM), and have a strong track record of driving maintenance excellence initiatives.
You excel at working in matrix organizations, where collaboration with local maintenance technicians, operational and maintenance leaders, site directors, and senior stakeholders is key. You are also forward-thinking and may have experience with digitally-enabled maintenance strategies, to support the long-term efficiency and reliability of assets.
Further, we believe that you have:
•Proven maintenance experience in plants within a mature maintenance environment, preferably in food manufacturing, with advanced asset care practices
•Hands-on experience in leading asset care excellence journeys within mature operations environments (e.g., TPM)
•Experience with digital tools and technologies for asset care, such as SMART factory implementations, is preferred
•Experience in a global/local matrix environment, with the ability to engage and manage local technicians, engineering teams, operations teams, and senior stakeholders
•Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive standardization, build capabilities, and influence at all levels of the organization.
