How you will make an impact

As our Head of Sustainability, you will lead a dynamic team of 7 global experts and project managers. Together, you will steer Arla's sustainability strategy, covering crucial areas like nature, climate, life cycle assessments, business conduct, and human rights. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping Arla's future direction, ensuring we set and meet ambitious sustainability goals.

You will represent Arla's stand on sustainability, collaborating extensively with internal and external partners to uphold our commitment to creating the future of dairy. Your team will set the benchmark and lead the discussion of how the sustainability direction should develop within Arla.

Your key responsibilities:

• Lead Arla's Nature and Climate Strategy: Develop strategies, set targets, manage key development projects, and report progress to maintain Arla's leadership in sustainable dairy
• Drive Science-Based Targets: Report, develop, and implement methodologies to meet targets, ensuring guideline adherence and stakeholder collaboration
• Advance Product Carbon Footprint Initiatives: Align with guidelines and collaborate globally to enhance carbon footprint measurement
• Ensure Business Conduct: Oversee adherence to Arla's business conduct and human rights commitments
   

What will make you successful

We are looking for a visionary leader with a solid background in sustainability and strategy development. As the guardian of Arla’s sustainability ambitions, you will represent these goals and lead stakeholders, partners, and industry counterparts on an international scale. Ideally, you are able to influence without authority and inspire a shared global agenda through compelling communication skills across a global matrix organization.
 

We envision that you have:

• Experience working with relevant aspects of a full sustainability agenda, including climate, nature, and business conduct
• A proven track record in developing corporate-level sustainability strategies within the FMCG industry
• Commercial flair with the ability to transform progress into relevant insights for our commercial organization

On a personal level, you are a natural leader who excels in teamwork and collaboration. You remain curious and updated with the latest developments in methodology, research, sustainability, and technology.
