Are you passionate about raw milk quality and eager to turn your in-depth knowledge into strategic decisions with our farmer owners, focusing on product safety? Arla’s global milk quality team is looking for a colleague to join us. Our team operates at the interface between farmer owners and the later parts of the supply chain, maintaining close contact with local representatives. You will work globally but with a close interface to colleagues in Denmark and Sweden, so being located in one of these countries is ideal.

 

How will you make an impact?

 

The milk quality specialist will lead our cross-national projects, ensuring best practices are implemented across regions. You will manage projects related to bacteria in raw milk, somatic cell count, medicinal and non-medicinal residues, analyzing data to identify trends and actionable insights.

 

A significant portion of your time will focus on leading strategic development projects to improve raw milk quality, collaborating with advisors to design initiatives that enhance product safety and compliance. You will also monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and report findings.

 

Additionally, you will be a supportive knowledge specialist by:

  • Providing guidance to other parts of the business on your area of expertise.
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues and fostering continuous improvement.

 

Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be vital in identifying process enhancement opportunities and ensuring quality standards are met. Overall, you will play a key role in advancing our commitment to raw milk quality and safety, contributing to our global success.

 

What will make you successful?

 

We expect you to have a master's degree in a relevant field such as Animal Science, Food Science, or Dairy Engineering. A PhD is an advantage. We welcome both senior candidates with extensive experience and junior candidates with a few years of experience post-MA/PhD.

 

With a proactive approach, you are passionate about food safety and legal compliance. You have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, enabling you to assess situations and implement solutions effectively.

 

You possess a global mindset, decision-making skills, and a strong independent drive, excelling in informal leadership roles.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for creativity and collaboration across teams.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Familiarity with decision-making in cooperatives is an advantage.
  • You should anticipate opportunities for travel.
