(Senior) RA specialist with a background in Food quality or Regulatory Affairs - Aarhus

Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) is a subsidiary of Arla Foods and right now we are growing our regulatory affairs team to deliver against our ambitious plans and are recruiting for a (senior) Regulatory Affairs Specialist at our headquarters in Aarhus.


The role

Your overall objective is to support the pediatric business units in AFI on strategic and legal requirements. The pediatric business unit have developed a range of ingredients that support nutrition in the early life stages: From pregnancy to infancy and toddler years.


It will be your job to secure that all the ingredients have market access and fulfil the legal requirements. This covers tasks as interpretations on production standards, infant formula regulation, microbiology and contaminants. This means that you'll need to have a proactive approach to regulatory affairs and always be one step ahead in order to pave the way for new ingredients.


You will provide strategic regulatory direction to your stakeholders, to ensure that all contributes actively to the business strategy. You will collaborate with other functional both within AFI and external stakeholders to execute on the company strategy.


Reporting to the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs, your area of responsibility will be within food regulatory affairs with emphasis on ingredient approvals (Novel Food, GRAS ect.), project management, external contact to international authorities and regulatory support to product marketing. Further, you will also participate in internal and external networks in order to developing and maintaining knowledge, and influence legislation where possible. You will drive regulatory projects as the project manager, to make sure AFI has the right approvals for entering new markets and securing market access.


You will be involved in business function ranges from the start of product research and development right up to the post-marketing stage of the process, including the plans to test the product before it's ready for market. You'll also arranges consultations and meetings between the AFI and government regulatory agencies, and compiles briefing documents for the government agencies as well.


Your background

We are looking for a colleague with a strong background within Food quality, Regulatory Affairs or project management with an interest in regulatory.


You are an enthusiastic, proactive, independent and detail-oriented regulatory professional with minimum 2-3 years’ experience in food regulatory, food quality or related areas. You have as a minimum a master degree within Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science, Human Nutrition or similar, or you have a background working with legislation and wants to work more in depth with legislation and regulatory affairs. Either way, you have a passion for, and a thorough understanding of dairy and/or child nutrition with a passion for learning more about our whey protein based products.


You have solid business understanding, a global mindset and the capabilities to take the regulatory agenda to the next level. And you know that clear and concise communication is an important key to success. This puts heavy demands on your structured and meticulous working methods and text flair.


You are fluent in English, both in speak and writing and will be expected to engage with internal and external stakeholders around the world.
