Director Arla Brand and The BARN - Stockholm



As Director of Arla brand and  The BARN in-house agency you are responsible and accountable for deliveries and success of Arla brand and The Barn in Sweden.


The teams are people specialized in building brand equity and brand communication, digital storytelling, video, content and in-store media production, new media buying and publishing as well as platform and service development.


About the job

The job has two distinctive areas of responsibilities - Arla Brand and the in-house agency The Barn. You are responsible to provide the organization with knowledge and understanding of the direction of Arla brand and you are the point of contact and working partner for Arla brand in relation to the local category organization with retail and food service with close collaboration with global Arla organization.


You have a central and leading role within responsibility for building brand equity for the Arla Brand in Sweden and for the in-house agency The Barn which consists of Content Studio, Content Factory,  Media Team  and Digital platform and service development team. They support the Arla business and long-term direction by developing effective and engaging communication with Arla stakeholders and target groups. Our vision is to bring Arla Stories and Brands to life.


You will have an active role within The Barn Lead Team and the Steering Committee for Arla Brand sharing and providing information to the organization on development of the performance of Arla brand in Sweden. You have in total 7 direct reports and you manage an organization of 36 colleagues .


As the owner of the Arla brand and story masterplan you are responsible for amplifying the Arla brand by ensuring a consistent and effective brand message and identifying opportunities and brand alignments that strengthens the Arla brand. You will provide guidance to categories and Story Owners on creative and media briefs, as well as create and ensure tools and guidelines are in place to secure brand consistency and messaging.


Your overall responsibility for The Barn includes to cost and time efficiently manage resources such as budget and organization ensuring that the team creates and delivers high-performing content, efficient media strategies and buying and continuous excellence within digital platforms  - all with a digital first mindset. You are a key player in establishing consumer insights, behavior, setting the communication objectives. You will set up the necessary structures to deliver according to agreed plans to enable all teams within The Barn to deliver high quality concepts and ideas on based on briefs.

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • MBA in Marketing & Communication, Business Strategy and/or International Business  – specialized in Communication, Marketing and/or Digital
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience from Marketing positions and or creative agency work and
    effective work processes
  • Documented staff and budget experience
  • Experience from working in a matrix organization, cross-functional coordination with internal stakeholders and international environment
  • Experience of how different digital channels contribute in the media-mix and can be purposed for always-on communication
  • Ability to work and drive effective negotiations with creative and strategic agencies.
  • Ability to lead a wide range of different competences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a large matrix organisation.
