Demand Planner - Sipoo

As a Demand Planner at Arla, you will play a crucial role in our sales organization, responsible for forecasting demand for both imported products and those manufactured at our Finnish sites. Your role will involve anticipating sales peaks, promotions, and seasonal shifts. You will engage closely with cross-functional teams, including key account managers, finance, supply chain planning, category management, and logistics, to create and analyze reports that bolster sales and financial strategies. Additionally, you’ll be part of an end-to-end planning journey with our global planning teams.

 

What will you do

Your work will be pivotal in refining our S&OP demand process and enhancing forecast accuracy. As a Demand Planner, you will:

  • Refine the category demand forecast across all horizons, reviewing exceptions and alerts and adjusting forecasts accordingly.
  • Partner with the Forecasting Specialist to maximize the value of forecasting methods and advanced modeling outputs, increasing the share of no-touch forecast items.
  • Incorporate approved demand-shaping proposals and learnings from S&OE & S&OP cycles into the forward plan.
  • Lead forecasting for NPDs and delistings, including PIPO processes and cannibalization assessment.
  • Coordinate demand reviews with S&OP, Finance and Sales/Marketing, ensuring alignment to volume ambitions and financial targets; prepare clear demand plans and document decisions and escalations.
  • Work with customer data and collaborate with customer forecasting teams to support forecast & delivery accuracy.
  • Integrate market intelligence into forecasting and constructively challenge assumptions to improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning, Forecasting Specialists and E2E teams on process standardization; flag master data exceptions to Data Stewards.
  • Make informed tactical decisions at agreed aggregation levels to support execution excellence.

 

Who you are?

  • Analytical problem-solver with solid FMCG experience in demand, site or supply chain planning.
  • University or applied university degree in a relevant field.
  • Fluent in Finnish and English with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge.
  • End-to-end mindset
  • A robust understanding of the Finnish market and FMCG industry.
  • Proficient in SAP IBP Demand Planning; experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW is an advantage.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; very strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Sound command of forecasting methodologies and their limitations
  • Working knowledge of finance, marketing and sales processes is an advantage
