So what do our engineers actually do?

This is an opportunity not to be missed. You’ll get the chance to work at one of Arla’s largest Dairies with state of the art equipment and solid career development . As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will support the site as critical support on breakdowns as well as drive planned preventative maintenance activities across automated processing and packaging equipment. Alongside your day to day, you’ll get involved in CI and project work. You’ll contribute to Arla’s continued growth.

This will be working on equipment including;  Milk pasteurisation, homogenisers, separators process sys-tems, filers, cartoners, bottle labellers, cappers, packers, blow moulding machines, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, trolley packers. Palletisers, de-palletisers, conveyor lines (chain, spiral), robots (Kuka), vi-sion systems, Spectrum TX rejection systems / OEMS such as Siemens, Tetra Pak, SPX flow, Elopak, ISOMA, Hueft, Nepas, Grunwald.

 

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

  • Time served / Apprentice trained or proven experience with fast paced manufacturing environ-ment
  • Strong experience as a multiskilled engineer (shift engineer/ maintenance engineer/ engineering technician and the likes)
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within Manufacturing, Production and Pro-cess environments
  • Ideally you will have experience with fast- moving machinery, pumps, valves, inverter drives, sen-sors, relays, PLC’s (Siemens), Site Services (steam generation plant, chilled water systems, com-pressors, processes), CIP systems (chemical cleaning plant)
  • Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office, SCADA, Trend systems, HMI’S

  • In 2021, Lactofree production commenced at its Settle plant in Yorkshire following £25m in-vestment
  • The investment at Arla’s Settle factory has allowed processing capacity to grow by an extra 120 million litres of milk a year to a total of 305 million litres
