We are now recruiting for a number of process technicians to work at our Settle site which operates 24 hours a day 7 days per week. The successful candidate will work on a 4 week shift based role covering days, nights and weekends (limited) on a rotating basis with 9 days off in the middle of the 4 week rotation . It will be a 42 hour contract and thankfully no immediate rotation between days and nights. This role reports into the production Team Leader, and will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring that the daily production plan and maximum plant performance is achieved.

What will the role look like?

  • You and your colleagues will take a proactive approach to promote communication links and good working relationships with colleagues
  • You will help to actively contribute and seek continuous improvements to achieve departmental targets
  • Resolve minor breakdowns and carry out basic maintenance, develop world-class procedures, with an ongoing focus on continuous improvement, leading and facilitating this through different areas of the manufacturing site
  • You will be operating within production and packaging equipment with prime responsibilities for maximising output efficiencies with the maintenance of strict quality, hygiene and safety standards.
  • You will look to continuously improve process and work with your peers using lean manufacturing tools to deliver improvements across the UHT, Lactofree and packaging areas
  • You will work to high standards to achieve departmental targets in Quality, Efficiency, Waste and cost reduction
  • You will initiate root cause analysis investigations, implementing corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Ensure departmental procedures are followed and records are maintained
  • Contribute to the team reporting and decision making process


What do I need?

  • GCSE’s C+ in English & Maths
  • Manufacturing shift work experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of CI / Lean / six sigma manufacturing techniques
  • Ideally Lab background / microbiology / chemistry (ideal)
  • Engineering related qualifications eg.  Process, Manufacturing, Mechanical
  • Computer knowledge – basics of excel
  • Good time management
  • Self-driven
  • Ability to attend virtual/face to face assessment centre w/c 14th September
  • Happy with the shift patterns – mixture of days, nights, weekends
  • Excellent team player
  • Good communicator
  • Strong work ethic
  • Positive & proactive behaviours in regards to Safety & Quality standards
  • Experience and/or interest in Autonomous Maintenance
