Laboratory Assistant - Settle

As an Laboratory Assistant at our Settle Creamery, you will play a key part in turning the raw milk into our great products ready for packing, by ensuring high manufacturing standards, safety and high quality of the product and continual development of our processes.

 

So what do our Laboratory Assistant actually do?

As an Laboratory Assistant, you will be integral to site operations where you will be conducting tests to analyse utilities samples, conducting tests for positive release of the product and conducting environmental swabbing and basic microbiology tests.

You will be keeping accurate records using designated quality control tools and software and communicating results to relevant departments.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that laboratory instruments are functioning and that calibrated and verified methods are used and you will be coaching your colleagues and conducting internal GMP audits as part of the site auditing team

 

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

  • A strong sense of professional integrity and a passion for producing high quality work
  • An attention to detail to ensure all recording is 100% accurate
  • The ability to communicate effectively with external and internal teams
  • Good IT skills
  • Laboratory experience would be a benefit but is not essential as all training for the role is provided
  • Experience in working in food industry and food safety knowledge would be a benefit but is not essential as all training for the role is provided
