As an Environment, Health & Safety Specialist (EHS) you will work as part of our Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEHS) team. You will act as the site’s conscience, whilst ensuring our workplace is safe, healthy, and compliant with environmental regulations.
You will have the opportunity to implement process, and influence change.
How will you make an impact?
You will play an integral role in driving the EHS culture at site, creating positive relationships with colleagues across different functions. You’ll be able to share your knowledge, coaching colleagues and empowering them to operate sustainably and safely. You’ll support localised ownership of risk identification and mitigation. You’ll act as the main representative of site for external stakeholders: Environment Agency, United Utilities, HSE, local councils etc. You’ll work closely with the wider team, supporting on a range of QEHS related initiatives. You’ll become part of a well-established global team, sharing your own knowledge and continually learning.
What will you need to succeed?
- Robust experience of H&S issues preferably within a Food Manufacturing environment. If you don’t have extensive Environmental knowledge, don’t worry. If you have some grounding in it, and you tick our other boxes then we will happily teach you.
- The ability to create genuine and productive relationships.
- A relevant qualification across either Environmental or Health & Safety.
- A strong sense of professional integrity and a passion for what you do.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Please note that due to the site closure which we estimate to be in the second half of 2027, we are offering an enhanced reward and support package to support our colleagues. This includes a pro rata retention payment (25% of average annual salary) as well as a redundancy payment based on length of service (no 2-year minimum service needed). We are also offering relocation support for colleagues staying with Arla following site closure as well as out service support for those colleagues who choose not to stay.
