Head of Convenience & eCommerce Channels NL/BE - Utrecht

In this role you will be part of the Sales Leadership team and head up both the Convenience and eCommerce teams to drive the fastest growing channels for Arla in the Netherlands and Belgium. You will define/ own the strategy and will lead both teams consisting of multiple account managers and a retail media specialist. You will manage the full commercial agenda for convenience/on-the-go customers (e.g. Petrol, Kruidvat, Cinema), omnichannel customers (e.g. AH/Jumbo) and pure players (e.g. Picnic). Ideally we’re looking for a candidate that has a strong background in the beverage industry.

 

The job

You will take ownership of two of our key growth areas, milk-based beverages (MBB) and eCommerce You’ll accelerate Arla’s beverage portfolio growth (e.g. Starbuck Ice coffee, Melkunie Breaker) within the on-to-go channels. Next to that you will maintain our FMCG leadership position for eCommerce (#1 Advantage) and continue to drive eCommerce revenue growth. You have full P&L responsibility and ownership of the business. You will be part of the sales leadership team for Arla NL/BE.

Overall responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop your own cross functional sales team and nurture our winning culture;
  • Be responsible for shaping, implementing and tracking the MBB & eCommerce long term sales strategy;
  • Set the annual plans and lead the commercial (complex) negotiations across a large set of customers;
  • Development of clear business development plan, unlocking new channels & customers;
  • Accountable for effective sales tracking vs. targets utilizing existing data-sets and tools drive both channel & customer specific insights;
  • Promote channel-thinking within the wider Arla business planning process whilst also enabling the wider commercial community on MBB & eCommerce fundamentals, insights and innovations;
  • Optimize assortment, investments and campaigns in terms of price, product mix and volume through Net Revenue Management (NRM);
  • Liaise with global peers to share & re-apply commercial best practices.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

Your track record reflects solid experience in commercial management across beverage channels within an FMCG environment. Combine this with experience in eCommerce and you are the candidate we are looking for.  You have leadership experience working with multifunctional teams. You have strong business acumen, entrepreneurial drive and you are willing to go the extra mile to deliver results. You must have a can-do mentality and  the skills to collaborate and lead within a matrix organization. Among colleagues you are characterized as a great communicator, decision-maker with a good deal of resilience. You have excellent planning and organizing skills.

 

Your profile

We are looking for a strong team-player who can create and build strong business relationships. A true people manager who will lead the acceleration of two of our growth platforms. Ideally you have a background in the commercial beverage industry and/or eCommerce.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A master’s degree;
  • Experience in leading and developing a multi-functional teams;
  • A solid long term view and are able to also drive execution;
  • Strong communication skills as well as proficiency in written and spoken Dutch and English;
  • Ability to work in complex matrix organizations and handling many activities at the same time;
  • Solid sales experience, including end year negotiations;
  • Customer centric approach and deep understanding of retailer strategies, priorities and key objectives and possibility to align own activities to these where relevant;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details;
  • A passion for fresh dairy sales, consumer insights, and business development;
  • An open mind and curiosity in exploring new areas and ideas.
