E-Commerce Manager - Nijkerk

We are currently looking to recruit our new


E-Commerce Manager, Nijkerk


In this role you will head up the E-commerce team and drive the fastest growing channel in the Netherlands. You will define the E-Com strategy and will lead the team, consisting of a E-Commerce Specialist and an E-Commerce Account Manager. You will manage the agenda with the bricks and clicks customers and pure players. For this role, we are looking for candidates with strong sales and E-commerce experience.

As our E-Commerce Manager, you play a key part in pushing our growth as you ensure our continued success within online sales. 


The job


Arla has an ambitious commercial agenda and you’ll be the driving force behind the eCommerce strategy in the Netherlands to enable delivery of our growth ambitions.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a diverse team, consisting of a Key Account Specialist, E-commerce Specialist and intern
  • Be responsible for shaping, implementing and tracking the E-com long term strategy
  • Be leading the Arla’s branded business within the assigned accounts.  Responsible for the P&L and growth plan, you set the annual plans and then execute it with the full support of the regional ecommerce team.
  • In partnership with the regional eCommerce team, develop and implement a clear eCommerce business plan for the assigned accounts.
  • Accountable for effective eCommerce sales tracking vs. targets utilizing existing tools and EPOS data to support on-going analysis within the assigned accounts
  • Employ data and insight to identify opportunities to grow our brands and dairy categories, including product, supply-chain and mission-based marketing initiatives. Secure new listings and deliver against key commercial KPIS.
  • Promote channel-thinking within the Arla business planning process whilst also enabling the wider commercial community on eCommerce fundamentals, insights and innovations.
  • Acountable for implementation of the digital shelf fundamentals and strategic eCommerce initiatives
  • Utilise learnings and best practice to support the growth of online sales in other e-tail customers.


What you’ll need to succeed


Your track record reflects solid experience in a market in terms of account management and eCommerce within an FMCG environment AND leading a team. You have extensive experience working with multifunctional teams on e-business management. You have strong business acumen and exceptional drive, and you are willing to go the extra mile to deliver results. You must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, with the skills to collaborate and lead within a matrix team. Among colleagues you are characterized as a great communicator, decision-maker with personal impact and a good deal of resilience, and excellent planning and organizing skills.


Your profile


We are looking for a strong team-player who can create and build strong business relationships. A true people manager who can find the way in a complex matrix organisation with 5+ years of experience in the eCommerce or commercial environment in an FMCG sales role.


Furthermore, you have:

  • Experience in leading and developing a team;
  • A solid long term view and are able to implement it;
  • Strong communication skills as well as proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • Ability to work in complex organization and handling many activities at the same time;
  • Sales experience, eg end year negotiations;
  • Customer central approach and deep understanding of retailer strategies, priorities and key objectives and possibility to align own activities to these where relevant;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details;
  • A passion for eCommerce sales, consumer insights, and business development;
  • An open mind and curiosity in exploring new areas and ideas.
