Digital Commerce Specialist, Europe Zone

 

With shopper missions increasingly fulfilled by digital platforms, the role of Digital Commerce Specialist is essential in enabling and accelerating our success in this dynamic space. Reporting to the Global Head of Digital Commerce, you will lead strategic initiatives globally across eCategory strategy development, eSales fundamentals, e4Ps (Place, Product, Price, and Promotion), delivering actionable insights and driving growth across markets.

 

The Role

As a key member of the Global Acceleration team, you will drive and implement Arla’s ambitious global digital commerce strategy, focusing on identifying growth opportunities, channel strategy development, and insight-driven execution across diverse markets.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • eCategory Strategy Development:
    • Develop and refine global category strategies tailored to eCommerce channels, considering shopper missions, segmentation, and sub-channel dynamics.
  • eSales Fundamentals & e4Ps Execution:
    • Optimize the e4Ps across digital commerce:
      • Place: Map shopper segments and missions within eCommerce sub-channels, developing precise channel strategies.
      • Product: Define the right portfolio assortment for digital platforms, aligning it with customer needs and future product development opportunities. Identify range gaps and provide innovative solutions to meet customer challenges.
      • Price & Promotion: Define pricing strategies and promotional frameworks tailored to the unique needs of digital commerce.
    • Collaborate with regional and local market teams to ensure consistent execution and alignment with overarching strategies.
  • Channel Strategy and Expansion:
    • Develop a global channel strategy, including defining an international expansion roadmap anchored in a clear understanding of power couples with differentiated eCommerce growth archetypes based on expandability and eCommerce fit.
    • Strategize for new distribution models, including B2B wholesale, marketplaces, social commerce, rapid delivery, and food aggregators.
    • Build business cases for new market opportunities and assess routes to market (e.g.FBA).
    • Anticipate and define future capabilities required to maintain a competitive edge in the evolving digital commerce ecosystem.
  • eCommerce Insights & Analytics:
    • Own eCommerce insights and analytics globally, transforming shopper data into actionable strategies.
    • Provide deep insights into shopper behaviours and market dynamics to inform strategy and execution.
    • Share insights with global and regional commercial and marketing teams to enhance internal capabilities and seize new opportunities.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Initiatives:
    • Design and execute cross-functional growth initiatives in partnership with teams across digital marketing, supply chain, IT, and analytics.
    • Foster knowledge sharing to build digital commerce expertise across the organization globally.

The Candidate

We are looking for a strategic thinker and innovative leader with a passion for global digital commerce and proven success in driving growth across markets. You should have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to transform data into actionable insights while building collaborative relationships across the organization. Furthermore, you are living near an Arla office  in Europe zone, e.g. Utrecht, Viby, Dusseldorf, Paris, Leeds etc.

 

 

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Global eCommerce Expertise:
    • 3–5 years of experience in eCommerce, FMCG sales, or retail roles, with exposure to multiple markets.
    • Strong understanding of the global digital commerce landscape, including pure plays, bricks-and-clicks, and marketplaces (e.g., Amazon).
    • Familiarity with retailer strategies and the ability to align activities to their priorities.
  • Strategic & Analytical Abilities:
    • Demonstrated success in developing global eCategory strategies and implementing e4Ps across digital commerce channels.
    • Ability to evaluate market trends, identify growth opportunities, and build compelling business cases.
  • Project Management & Collaboration:
    • Experience managing multiple global projects simultaneously with excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively within a matrix organization, building strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Growth mindset with a curious, open approach to new ideas and challenges.
    • Customer-focused and results-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Agile and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
