Role Overview:

As the Sustainability Lead you will be responsible for developing, leading and implementing the sites 5-year sustainability roadmap.  This will include cultural & educational initiatives, process optimization, technical projects aligned with Arla’s company sustainability goals and strategic milestones.

 

How would you impact?

  • Lead and create a culture of stewardship and responsibility across our site and supply chain, visitors and contractors: not limited to waste, electrical power, gas, water, effluent.
  • Senior stakeholder management, operations leaders, senior leadership, central engineering CAPEX and sustainability functions.
  • Own weekly and monthly review with internal and external stakeholders, waste, energy, site consumption, project updates.
  • Own and analyse sustainability and consumption data. Conduct feasibility study and calculations that ensure development and approval of project capital and non-capital.
  • Create digital twin of site metering for water, gas, steam, electrical power, and implement necessary infrastructure - Power BI, PI vision, Seeq.
  • Find, develop and implement engineering improvement projects and experiments across our supply chain and operation to reduce or optimise energy consumption, caron footprint and impact on the environment and society. Engage with industry leaders, community and other sites to bring new knowledge, innovation, technology, renewable sources and market our brand.

 

Grow with Arla

  • Proven results developing, leading and implementing sustainability and energy initiatives on site within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver on multiple sustainability projects.
  • Strong knowledge and experience implementing technologies and ways of working that reduce energy and utility consumption: for example: renewable, CHP, steam, effluent, boilers, water treatment, cooling towers, motors and VFD, air compressors, HVAC, Refrigeration, electrical distribution and their optimisation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others towards sustainable practices.
  • Excellent digital, Microsoft 365, excel, data and analytical skills, power BI.
  • Previous experience in similar role or utility leader within heavy energy intensive manufacturing environment.
