Production Planner

We currently have a vacancy for a Production Planner / Scheduler at the Stourton Dairy in Leeds.


Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Team Leader, you will be responsible for the effective creation and delivery of daily and weekly production plans to achieve optimal efficiencies throughout the site, whilst ensuring that Customer Service levels are met and exceeded.


As an integral member of the Supply Chain Team, the ideal candidate will support the delivery of departmental KPI’s, exceeding business expectations and liaising closely with internal and external customers and be focused on consistently achieving high results whilst considering all aspects and workstreams of the Supply Chain network.


The ideal candidate will have a highly motivated mind-set, with high attention to detail and have a flexible nature and a desire to learn different aspects of departmental roles. This will become a necessity throughout the evolution of the role.




• Effective delivery and clear communication of daily and weekly production plans, that are robust and supplied in a timely manner.

• To support the production and materials processes on site, delivering a cost-effective plan that optimises the use of resources, works within site and customer constraints and maximises both customer service levels and Supply Chain efficiencies.

• Ensure planning procedures are clearly documented, understood and adhered to.

• To work in partnership with Head Office ensuring effective daily communication and interaction with key stakeholders to ensure full alignment across the business.

• Support and liaise with the Engineering department to facilitate and achieve weekly and monthly maintenance plans.

• Maintain and update planning systems and any master data relevant to the Supply Chain function, problem solving whenever necessary.

• Work effectively with other members of the Supply Chain team to balance workload and ensure full utilisation of skillset and knowledge within the department.


Skills & Competencies


• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, SAP or other ERP and MRP systems.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.

• Excellent relationship building skills.

• Ability to be able to organise and prioritise workloads, whilst working under pressure.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge or any experience of SAP APO and Materials Planning would be advantageous.


Shift Pattern / Hours


Contracted working days will be Sunday – Wednesday, however flexibility will be required.
