Reporting into the Process LCO Team Leader, you will be integral to site production. Working as part of our closely-knit team of skilled Technicians, you will be responsible for the quality and technical areas within the process department to produce the highest quality dairy products in a reliable and cost-effective way. You will be in charge of operating state of the art machinery within the process area, which could be raw milk reception, milk pasteurisation, cream mixing and pasteurisation or cheese-making. Once fully-skilled, you will be trained within at least three process areas. This is a key role within the team where you will ensure the quality of raw and finished products meet the required standards, adhering to the relevant legal and technical requirements.
How will you make an impact?
- Operate SCADA systems for the operation of milk intake, liquid processing/mixing, cleaning in place (CIP)
- Laboratory testing linking to the passing and releasing of raw & finished products
- To achieve departmental KPI targets i.e Safety, Quality, efficiency, wastage, cost etc.
- Monitor equipment performance, carry out basic problem solving tasks, resolve minor breakdowns & raise issues before they become problems
- Maintain and ensure that company policies and procedures are maintained with regard to Food Safety, GMP, Customer Codes of Practice, Health & safety. Environment and operating practices.
- Follow departmental instructions, procedures, maintain records & SAP inputs
- Contribute & seek continuous improvement to achieve departmental KPIs
- Actively promote communication links & good working relationships with fellow team members, drivers, hauliers & other relevant departments
- Contribute to investigation of non-conformances, team reporting and decision-making process
- Ensure awareness of & compliance with quality & food safety requirements within your area of responsibility
- Promotes and practices a strong safety culture amongst the team whilst upholding a high level of GMP and adhere to 5S standards.
- Process order management using SAP systems
- We are currently recruiting for Process Technicians to work within the Process Operations department on a full time basis. The working hours for this role will be 42 hours per week, working on a shift Rota of 4-on 4-off after training, this role Includes bookable holidays.
What will you need to succeed?
- Work a 4-on 4-off shift pattern. You’ll work 2 days 2 nights, then 4 off, which will include some weekends.
- Confident communicator and team player with strong attention to detail
- Reliability with good timekeeping skills
- Able to work on your own initiative with strong team working skills & flexible attitude to work
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
- Experience working within an FMCG or manufacturing environment. Previous experiences within liquid processing or the dairy industry would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English
- Good PC / IT skills with knowledge of excel. An understanding of SAP systems is advantageous
