Global Planning Specialist, BSM & Powder - Leeds (UK) or Aarhus (DK)

As part of the Global Planning department you will work with a number of dedicated and professional colleagues. The position is based in a team working with categories BSM and Powder. You can be based in either Leeds, UK or Aarhus, Denmark and you will also have colleagues working in Sweden and Germany.


Your role is crucial to the success of our sites

You will be the coordinating link between our sales and production units and one of your primary objectives will be to follow up on plans for both areas. You will be responsible for the Master Production Planning of minimum one complex site, balancing available milk and capacity with the demand. You will play a decisive role ensuring that we apply and use our milk and capacities optimally from a global perspective. Furthermore you will:

  • Prepare material and analysis for the monthly S&OP process
  • Contribute in executing and anchoring the S&OE process
  • Lead and facilitate Plant Review Meetings at sites and other relevant meetings with stakeholders
  • Follow up on forecasts and production compliance and thereby identify imbalances between supply and demand
  • Facilitate E2E discussions across other planning functions to secure overall Arla value creation as top priority
  • Establish and maintain planning principles and master data in SAP/APO
  • Monitor stock levels in SAP/APO
  • Optimize production capacities and planning setup to fulfil customer demands
  • Challenge processes and practices identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Lead cross functional projects and take lead on knowledge sharing and provide training
  • Participate in optimization and investment projects for capacity expansion
  • Ensure required fat balance and follow- up on packaging situation to fulfill planned production
  • Have close collaboration with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization and gain a unique insight into Arla Foods’ business across units and functions
  • Contribute to the overall Global Planning agenda


Proactive logistician with strong analytical and communication skills

You hold a degree either within Economics or Supply Chain Management and if you have been working with planning and logistics for some years, that would be a benefit. You are an advanced user of Excel and BI tools, with solid understanding of different supply chain activities, processes and tools. As you will depend on a variety of stakeholders you will need to master executing through others in a matrix organization.

In your approach, you are positive, goal-oriented and thrive on working autonomously. You are able to retain a customer and service-oriented approach and possess excellent stakeholder management skills. You are proactive, able to remain calm under pressure and you use your analytical skills when solving problems. Additionally, you are a skillful communicator with good written and spoken English skills.
