As a Despatch Operative at our Stourton site you will be part of a high-performance team both delivering and supporting other functions to meet challenging team and personal goals. Completing all cold store functions including order picking, physical inventory, loading and Unloading vehicles, house-keeping duties, EWM & Voice picking.

  • Our Stourton Dairy/Creamery was opened in 2004 and produces milk, creams, custards and cottage cheese
  • We create 225 SKUs across 16 filling lines and 11 pasteurisers
  • Brands such as Cravendale and Arla BOB are produced at our Stourton site
  • The daily raw milk intake at Stourton is 2.2m Litres
  • The site has around 900 members of staff with 2 process colleagues who have a combined service of over 100 years!

 

About the job

  • Working with state of the art technology, such as our EWM voice picking, you will ensure full completion of daily targets whilst maintaining strict food hygiene and Health & Safety standards within the department.
  • Operating End of Line Palletisers and schedule workload to ensure efficient pallet supply across the Dairy and to our customers.
  • You will monitor equipment performance and correct/raise issues before they become problems and perform basic maintenance tasks and fault diagnosis (OAC)
  • Report safety issues. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and surroundings.
  • Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product before sending to customer.
  • Perform specified cleaning tasks as per our daily/monthly schedules.
  • Support the running of our production lines safely and efficiently to ensure top quality products are distributed on time.

 


What you’ll need to be successful in the role

  • Previous experience of working in a warehousing or cold store environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • A motivated team player, who can work on their own initiative and knows about supply chain processes and sticking to health and safety rules
  • You must be a strong communicator, who is able to prioritise tasks in a timely and organised manner and contribute to regular department meetings.
  • You’ll be a strong performer with a good attendance record and a willingness to learn further skills
