We are currently looking to recruit a Customer Category Controller to join us at our head office in Leeds. Reporting to the Commercial Development Director, you will be responsible for tailoring, planning and executing long term category plans and securing long term engagement with customers leading to mutual growth.
How will you make an impact?
You will combine market, shopper and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and execute these through outstanding category leadership initiatives. You will also collaborate closely within the category function and the wider sales and marketing function to step change our customer execution.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Tailoring, planning and executing long term category plans and securing long term en-gagement with customers leading to mutual growth.
- Leading a diverse team of 5 individuals, ranging from Executive to Lead Category Manager.
- Combine market, shopper and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and exe-cute these through outstanding category leadership initiatives.
- Collaborate closely within the function and also within the wider sales and marketing func-tion to step change our customer execution.
- Ensure Arla’s growth plans and initiatives are converted into brilliant execution that drives growth, positively impacts shopper behaviours and continues to build our Dairy creden-tials within the industry.
- Building strong customer and relationships and fostering collaboration
- Support customers in finding the growth they need aligned with Arla’s strategic direction.

- Relationship builder: You should have the ability to quickly build rapport at all levels and possess strong influencing skills.
- Execution focus: You should have a deep understanding of retailers' needs and be able to act swiftly and adaptably to maximize growth for customers.
- Category and shopper obsessive: You should have strong industry connections and a strong curiosity to build expertise around evolving shopper behavior.
- High performance & growth mindset: You should be open to continuous improvement as an individual and as part of a team. Your willingness to learn, grow, and support the delivery of the function will be valuable to the senior commercial team.
