Warehouse & Outbound Director - Jönköping, Stockholm

As Outbound & Warehouse Director you will be responsible for our warehouse and outbound operations in Sweden which is part of Arla Foods’ Swedish Logistics organization. You will be based either at Solna Head Office, Stockholm dairy or Jönköping dairy and assume responsibility for leading approximately 1000 employees with 10 direct reports, and you will cooperate both with external suppliers and internal colleagues in production, commercial as well as with your counterparts in other Arla markets.

How you will make an impact
 

As the Warehouse & Outbound Director, your job is making sure we  deliver on our main targets health & safety, product quality, on-time delivery, claims and finance together with the teams. In cooperation with your leadership team, you will drive the people agenda and the health & safety agenda as your top priority whilst never losing sight of the need to have an efficient operational setup and being able to provide excellent service to our customers. To do so, you focus on strong teamwork to ensure deliveries on our main KPI´s. Although our outbound transports are already fossil-free, you show passion and drive to not only continue strengthen our Sustainability journey but also drive Digital improvement agenda.
 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Logistics, you will assume a key role on both the strategic and tactical level, and together with your colleagues in the Logistics leadership team, you will drive cross-functional projects to strengthen our logistics for the future. We operate in 3 own warehouses (Sundsvall, Stockholm Jönköping) and two own re-loading terminals (Gothenburg & Visby) plus via haulers some external re-loading terminals. We share the facility in two of our si-tes with the Production organization (Stockholm and Jönköping), and you will look forward to cross-functional collaboration with production, with them having the full responsibility for the facility in these two sites.

What will make you successful

You hold a university degree within Supply Chain or Engineering or similar supplemented with several years of leadership experience preferably from warehousing and outbound Logistics. Your background has given you a broad and solid supply chain knowledge including people management and health & safety. Your success depends on your people and relationship management abilities. That is why you will need the communicative skills and the personal impact to adjust your message to the specific target group – your employees, other leaders, commercial and supply chain functions or external counterparts such as suppliers and customers.

In addition, you are open-minded, decisive and results-oriented. Relying on your personal impact, strategic insight and sound communication and cooperation skills, you can establish good relations to the management group and to internal and external stakeholders.  You have the ability to develop and motivate people, identify talent & succession plan with a relentless focus on self and team development. Furthermore you are experienced working in close collaboration with unions. If you also have experience in Warehouse development especially within Automation, Lean tools and change management, it will be an advantage. Finally, you have proficiency in written and spoken English and Swedish.
