We have one of only 9 stilton graders on site and he also judges at international cheese shows
Arla Melton Mowbray (Tuxford and Tebutt) is one of only 4 remaining Stilton producers and we have been making Stilton on this site since 1780
Melton are known for the quality of their cheese; in 2021 they were awarded the Best UK cheese at the International Cheese awards and won every stilton category
On any given day we manually turn approximately 13,000 cheese which will weigh

What the role entails

Support a well invested, fast paced food manufacturing site with 1st line maintenance of process and by carrying out reactive, proactive, and servicing activities
Utilizes CMMS systems and reporting suites.
Drive projects including non- capex modifications, capex, and continuous improvement including throughput and OEE initiatives.

Equipment includes - Milk pasteurisation, homogenisers, separators process systems, cheese vats, blenders, slicers, packers, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, trolley packers. Palletisers, de-palletisers, conveyor lines (chain, spiral), robots (Kuka), vision systems, Spectrum TX rejection system, Xray checkers, industrial dryers, refrigerated rooms, steam generators, water softeners, cooling towers, CHP system Air handing units, HVAC, water treatment, steam boilers, chillers, compressors

The person

Ambition & drive
Experience as a multiskilled engineer (shift engineer/ maintenance engineer/ engineering technician) and the likes either mechanically / electrically or true multiskilled.
Time served/ NVQ Level 3/ HNC qualified or proven experience with fast paced manufacturing environment
Ideally you will have experience with fast- moving machinery, pumps, valves, inverter drives, sensors, relays, PLC’s (Siemens), Site Services (steam generation plant, chilled water systems, compressors, processes), CIP systems (chemical cleaning plant)
Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office, SCADA, Trend systems, HMI’S
