Senior Brand & Category Manager Arla Milk (Bio, Lactofree, Hansano) and Arla Brand, with people responsibility


From the headquarters in Düsseldorf you will be responsible for the further development of the market position of our Milk category portfolio combined with the brand responsibility for the core brand Arla® Bio, as well as Hansano and Arla® Lactofree. You report directly to the Category Director of "Milk-Yogurt-Cooking” Germany and work together cross-functionally within marketing, innovation, sales, the retail brand milk -yogurt team and have a close alliance with the European team.


What the role entails

  • You will be responsible for the strategic orientation and development of Arla Germany's full milk category with an operational focus on the branded business.
  • You will develop and implement the brand strategy for Arla Bio, the fastest growing brand in Arla’s portfolio.
  • You will define the local, growth-oriented innovation strategy for the milk category and implement it in close cooperation with the Customer Marketing and Sales Team.
  • You will be the key sparring partner on Arla’s milk and quality standard programme Arlagaerden.
  • You will be the local brand guardian for the Arla umbrella brand.
  • You will be responsible for brand development and align the communication and media strategy accordingly in cooperation with creative, media and digital agencies.
  • You are responsible for the development of brand-building and sales-boosting activation measures in cooperation with Shopper Marketing and external agencies.
  • You align the brand strategy with global and local KPI's and align the budget planning with your further growth plans within the category and are responsible for the P&L category.
  • You will play a creative role in a dynamic working environment characterized by a cooperative Scandinavian culture and a challenging market environment.
  • You will have a team of 2 brand managers and 1 intern


What you bring to the table

  • You have been a professional in brand management at an FMCG company for at least 7 years and can look back on proven successes in the strategic management and further development of a brand/brand portfolio.
  • You will also have experience in project management and in managing cross-functional project teams and matrix organizations.
  • You have substantial experience in the analysis of consumer behaviour and market data and are able to make appropriate decisions with regard to your brand strategy on this basis as well developing creative implementations.
  • You will feel comfortable in a role with a great deal of creative freedom and will have a healthy entrepreneurial mindset as well as a high degree of flexibility/agility.
  • You are comfortable working in a matrix organization and know how to influence through others.
  • You have good success in leading and developing people
  • The starting point for your career is a successfully completed degree in economics (Uni/FH) in the field of marketing or a comparable focus.
  • Fluent in English and German language skills as well as a confident handling of MS-Office and Market-Tracking applications are required. Good communication and presentation skills round off your profile.
