Head of Demand Planning

In this role you will be heading up the German Demand Planning function with full responsibility for both people & processes (13 employees /7 Directs incl. 1 Teamlead). You will be accountable for the accuracy of the demand plan and for driving Promotion-Efficiency in close relation to organisation and tools. As part of the German sales organization you will be reporting into the Head of Customer Operations and work from the national Headoffice in Düsseldorf.


Your challenge

  • Ensure overall German demand plan accuracy is above agreed target levels as well as delivery & effective communication of monthly S&OP forecast
  • Drive action from key demand insights identified and take corrective action ensuring improvements on S&OP KPIs
  • Provide a forward view of demand risk & ranges to support category & supply chain decision making.
  • Provide leadership to and develop all members of the Demand team, by means of coaching & training.
  • The review & development of systems with global IT, in relation to Demand Management, coupled with ensuring the optimal use of customer systems.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with our internal customers to liaise with, agree consensus forecasts and share insight
  • Work with Global Planning to manage & resolve Category supply/demand issues & support initiatives
  • Take a leading role in the German Demand Review Meetings, ensuring this is the key demand decision making forum.
  • Build effective relationship with key customers; drive Planning excellence trough collaborative Planning and Forecasting (CPFR)


Your profile

  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in a Demand Planning role within a FMCG company equipping you with intense knowledge Planning & Sales; preferable within Dairy
  • At least 3-5 years of people leadership experience in a Commercial function
  • Higher education at Master’s or Bachelor’s level in Business Administration or similar
  • Strong expertise applying analytical skills related to statistical- and trend-calculation
  • Excellent understanding of FMCG Commercial Operations combined with proven multi-projectmanagement skills allowing you to prioritize yourself and others effectively
  • Advanced software skills (SAP-APO; Microsoft Office 365)
  • Ability to demonstrate a mindset of continuous improvement with a natural approach of delivering against and improvement of high standards
  • Acts as an inspiring Leader with proven communication skills in German and English language at business level
