Arla Taw Valley Creamery

  • Just received one of the biggest investment in Arla, £180 Million, to build a Mozzarella production facility with New State of the Art innovative technology as well as £20 Million to improve its whey pro-cessing equipment.
  • Our Taw Valley Creamery was established in 1974 and it has been a significant site for cheese production in the UK, and it has undergone various developments and expansions over the years to improve its capacity and capabilities in cheese making.
  • We process approximately 1.2 million litres of milk daily; producing over 100t per day of award winning cheeses, such as BOB, Castello Tickler.

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a strategic approach to maintenance & engineering?

How would you add value

  • You will be responsible site Maintenance & Engineering, leading & developing the M&E roadmap onsite as we grow, also working with UK peers to chart the course towards world-class maintenance and engineering practices, encompassing the Arla Performance System, specialized topics relevant to the dairy industry and specific dairy product production.
  • Takes leadership in developing, anchoring and role model a lean/safety/quality/food safety/sustainability/digital/continuous improvement culture.
  • You will develop the M&E department to provide the reliability and capability required using the Arla-specific CMMS and OEE, and be responsible for analysing data to ensure the right equipment maintenance strategy and continuous improvements are implemented.
  • Financial understanding and work within the framework set by corporate finance. Responsible for targets and forecasting of budgets,  Accountable for the effective control and deployment of an annual maintenance budget.
  • As part of the Site Leadership Team, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of all strategic initiatives and plans for the site.
  • Delivers technical input, collaboration and budget proposals to CAPEX applications, ensuring execution of approved small CAPEX projects within budgets & support ongoing major capex investment with our “Baldur Project” and “All purpose Whey”.

 

What do I need?

  • Strong leadership experience with a focus on people development, having managed a M&E department with c30 engineers, able to get the best out of others by leading, coaching, motivating and inspiring people to perform on a day-to-day basis
  • A robust understanding of M&E within an automated fast moving manufacturing environment, able to champion M&E safety & compliance.
  • Proven M&E focussed continuous improvement experience (TPM, WCM methodology preferred) 
  • An appetite for creating positive change and experience in culture-led change management.
  • Capable of demonstrating and leading with a true sense of urgency to meet business needs and be unphased by short term priority changes whilst keeping the long-term goals on track.
