Arla Foods Taw Valley are looking for a responsible and proactive Dairy Vat Operator (Cheese) who is interested in embracing a new challenge with a rare and exciting opportunity to join the team at our Taw Valley Creamery.

We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated with great communicating skills, who is happy to work within a small team and critical department of the business.

Main duties to include:

As a Dairy Vat Operator, you will be reporting into the Operations Team Leader playing a lead role within the department. This role will be working a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, which will include 12 hour shifts, both days and nights

Key responsibilities

Resolving day-to-day production issues & making process equipment available for maintenance.
Operating, monitoring & cleaning processing equipment – cheese vats, tables , cheddar tower & pasteurisers.
Ensuring department is always audit ready (Cleaning, hygiene, food safety, paperwork)
Use of processing equipment to process all our whey & curd to the highest possible quality standards
Monitor and review the process to ensure department KPI’s are achieved and that any deviations from standard are recorded and communicated to the Operations Team Leader.
Work closely with maintenance and other members of the team to ensure lost time due to breakdowns is minimized.
Maintain a safe working environment by raising near misses, environmental and behavioral safety observations.
