Bagging & FLT Operator - Taw Valley

AFI Taw Valley produces 18000 tons of permeate powder and 4000 tons of whey protein concentrate using membrane, evaporator and drying technology. Our customers use the products as ingredients in foods and dry blend products, and therefore have high demands for quality and food safety.

It’s a fast-paced site and the Bagging & Forklift operator role will involve working on a 4 days on 4 days off shift basis (days only, 06:00-18:00)., Your main responsibilities will be:

 

Specific tasks :

  • Operate processing equipment to bag demineralized ‘dry blend” permeate powder into 25kg bags and (1 tonne) mini bulk bags.
  • Package & dispatch finished product. Loading onto curtain side trailers using counterbalance fork lift truck.
  • Ensure that department log sheets are filled out accurately and in full.
  • Process SAP orders for finished product.
  • Monitoring the process to ensure department KPI’s are achieved
  • Work with engineers and other members of the team to reduce lost time due to breakdowns.
  • Cleaning/housekeeping to maintain a hygienic and food safe environment, and to be audit ready at all times.
  • Record & Report Process Deviations to the Team Leader. 
  • Maintain a safe working environment by raising near misses, risk observations, environmental observations and behavioural safety observations.
  • Complete mandatory and job required training courses so that skills are kept up to date.

 

Essential job required training:

  • Counterbalance Fork lift Truck (FLT) Licence
  • SAP applications
  • Process equipment
  • Microsoft Applications (Word & Excel)
  • Food Safety and Quality (HACCP Level 1 minimum)

 

Preferred/optional training:

  • First Aid
  • Experience in a similar process operation position
