Accountant - Taw Valley Creamery

MVI is a joint venture owned business that is situated at one of Arlas sites in Taw Valley, Devon. The business manages all of the whey created form the cheese manufacturing process and produces 18000 tons of permeate powder and 4000 tons of whey protein concentrate using membrane, evaporator and drying technology. Our customers use the products as ingredients in foods and have high demands for quality and food safety.  Join our business here at Taw Valley in Devon as Senior Accountant for the joint venture and be an integral part of a high performing team, shaping the future of the business.

Key responsibilities will include:


  • Delivers high quality on standard accounting tasks in a timely fashion based on directions from key stakeholders (Manager, Peers within the joint venture shareholders). Demonstrates a profound theoretical understanding of accounting models and tools combined with a strong in-depth knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Contributes to various standard tasks that are well described.
  • Delivers efficiently on accounting tasks in a timely fashion based on direction from the Business, stakeholders. Period reports, development of forecasts through year, for example.
  • Runs standard financial reports and ability to drill into details to find underlying reasons and explanations in data sources.
  • Ensures that policies and accounting guidelines are followed and that sound judgement on data quality is applied consistently.
  • Prepares documentation, reporting and analyses for Audit.
  • Manages small ad hoc accounting projects with low complexity with a limited number of stakeholders.
  • Embraces and ensures that Arla Digital WOW is communicated and embedded within the department.

You are

the successful candidate will have a proven track record, certificates and experience from working in a similar position.  Good IT skills are required working with all Microsoft platforms including PowerPoint, excel and word as well as ability to use bespoke computer software. Strong communication and influencing skills will be essential for the role.
