CAPEX Project Manager in Engineering & Technology - Aarhus or Esbjerg (flexible location in Jutland)

We are currently looking to recruit a Capex Project Manager to join our Global Engineering & Technology team where you will be based in Denmark and travel to Arla production facilities around Denmark, Germany and Netherlands to deliver high profile engineering projects.


In this role you will report to the Senior Manager Capex CE and can be based near our Arla offices or near of our production sites. You can expect up to 50 % travel depending on where you are located but ideal location is Jutland.


About the role


The CAPEX Project Manager role is responsible to support our supply chain organization with world class execution of CAPEX projects to deliver initiatives such as new product launches, capacity increases and cost improvements across our manufacturing sites in Denmark, Germany and Netherlands.


Principal duties and responsibilities:


  • Manage large size and complex projects, covering main project constraints like scope, sched-ule, budget, quality, risk, safety, stakeholders and communication, throughout the complete project life cycle
  • Define and drive alignment across Arla Foods key stakeholders for main project success criteria
  • Develop, align and execute detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, resource and risk to deliver the project success criteria
  • Working with Procurement, develop, align and execute detailed project sourcing strategies, develop tenders, negotiations and contract execution
  • Manage project funding process and budget tracking
  • Assemble and manage the project team (both internal and external resources) to ensure successful execution of the project against the project plan
  • Manage project changes through the right change management processes
  • Manage project communication amongst the project team, suppliers and key stakeholders
  • Manage project risks through a collaborative risk management approach
  • Develop, align and manage project construction plan including clear H&S plans
  • Support Site Operations through an effective Change Management process, incl. project Planning / Commissioning / Training and Start-up


Who are you


To be successful in this role we believe you have a BSc. or MSc. degree in Dairy/Food or Mechanical/Marine Engineering (or related field). Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical / project management role with a proven track record of delivering medium / large sized / complex technical projects. Having a Project Management certification is an advantage (PMP, Prince 2, IPMA or similar).


In addition: 


  • A passion for project management and equipment technologies in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to deal with and manage complex projects uncertainty
  • Capability to work autonomously and operate in a collaborative project environment
  • Results oriented, self-driven, with excellent communications (oral and written) and network building skills with motivation to make a difference for the team, the projects and the organization.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Driver License is a requirement
  • Cost conscious and global mindset
  • Hunger to learn and challenge yourself


If you have dairy experience, experience of managing CAPEX projects or working in an engineering environment in the Food/FMCG/Pharmaceutical industry it would be a benefit.
