To strengthen our continuous business growth ambition in Iraq, Arla Foods is currently looking for a senior accountant in Baghdad.
What you are responsible for…….
- Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Month-End and Year-End Close
- Reconciliation of Accounts
- Tax and Compliance
- Audit Preparation and Support
- Mentorship and Team Collaboration
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
In addition to this, there are specific tasks will be responsible for:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and Iraqi Accounting Principles
- Ensure that all data is recorded in accordance with accounting policies
- Manage and ensure the smooth completion of the month-end and year-end close process
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and credit card accounts, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries as necessary.
- Review and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate financial records and reporting, including reconciling balance sheet accounts and reviewing expense accounts for proper allocations
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff and ensure that they follow best practices in data entry
What will make you successful:
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Strong communication skills, both writing and speech
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Experience with SharePoint is an advantage

- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Requirement:
- Hours: Full-time, with occasional overtime required during month-end close or tax season.
- Travel: Minimal travel required (if applicable).
