Process Technician - Aylesbury

This is an exciting opportunity. You’ll get the chance to work at our state of the art flagship dairy in Aylesbury. Built in 2010, covering 76 acres, our 100% carbon neutral dairy is the very first of its kind in the world! It plays a big part in helping Arla to #feedthenation, producing a staggering 1 billion litres of milk per year. 


So what do our Process Technicians actually do?


Reporting to the Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for the quality and technical areas in the process area to produce the highest quality milk products in a reliable and cost-effective way.


You will be responsible for;


Daily operation of milk and cream pasteurisers to both legal and company standards.

Complete investigations when quality standards are not met, and report solutions in a timely fashion.

Actively contribute and seek continuous improvements to achieve departmental KPI targets (Quality, efficiency, waste, costs etc)

Providing continuous flow of product to achieve daily production requirements and when appropriate involve other departmental team members and the departmental team leader.

Monitoring equipment performance and correct /raise issues before they become problems

Liaising with site schedulers to process required batch orders according to the site requirements.

Attending site meetings as required, being equipped with relevant information.

Contributing fully and show will of ownership of equipment and department.

Operating within the environment in a safe manner, contribute to safety improvements and facilitate awareness on site.

Actively promoting communication links and good working relationships with all departments.

Performing various QA tests of finished product including the ability to identify product quality via taste test acceptance.

Basic chemistry tests on water and chemical samples.

Maintaining strict food hygiene and health & safety standards in the department.



What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role?


You must be able to work a rotating shift pattern that will include days, nights and some weekends

You must be able to work on your own initiative, have strong team working skills and a flexible attitude to work.

Previous experience within the dairy industry or chilled food manufacturing would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
